Between the Zots, the Heists, the Santas and the Good Food, it's clear that there's a full cornucopia of shopping discounts for Mac software buyers this season. Now the MacUpdate crew is jumping in on the festivities with a time-limited deal on a $49 bundle of seven software packages. As more bundles are sold, additional applications get added to the shopping cart at $0 additional cost. The bundled apps include fan favorite RapidWeaver, FTP client ForkLift, 'scrapbooking' tool Memory Miner and paper/PDF organizer Yep. Once the 1000-bundle sales threshold is reached, the intriguing (and pricey!) mind mapping tool XMIND will be cut loose from the restraints, followed by iStabilize and PulpMotion on the far side. The deals expire by 12/11, so shop wisely.
If you've got a creatively-minded switcher on your gift list, the MU bundle might be just the thing. Want more stocking stuffer suggestions? Keep an eye out for our upcoming gift guides, all this month.

Given RapidWeaver's rather hefty UPGRADE price for 3.6 this looks like a pretty good deal to me.

XMIND Pro is selling for $99, not $299 directly from the developer's site. They state it's a sale of sorts.

XMIND Pro is $129.95 on the developers site, not $99.95. The $99.95 price is for Governments, Schools and Non-Profit Organizations.
Personally, barring XMIND which I have never looked at, the only one of these applications that interest me at all is Rapidweaver.
The direct link to this deal is should me noted in this article. It is http://www.mupromo.com/

No thanks. RealMac burned me last time, by issuing a major PAID update to RapidWeaver almost immediately after the last bundle I purchased (MacHeist, perhaps?).
Not only was the version I "purchased" no longer the latest and greatest, but it seems it's not Leopard ready either. Money down the drain. No more RapidWeaver for me, no more bundles either.

No thanks, already have RapidWeaver (MacHeist version, so it's out of date, but I never used it anyway) and XSlimmer, and the rest just doesn't look like it's worth it. Only reason I bought the last MacUpdate bundle was because of the MacHeist add-on stuff - Linkinus is is an awesome IRC client, I wanted WriteRoom, and the Pixelmator beta was great - the other stuff was a nice bonus.
I'm holding out for MacHeist 2 to burn money on software I don't need :) Here's hoping for Delicious Library 2 and Things to be in the bundle... That would be an instant purchase for me - Things is the only, well, thing stopping me from buying a preorder of OmniFocus, because it looks like it's going to blow it out of the water.

XMind looks like it's built on Eclipse Tools. I noticed from those ugly tabs.

if you're remotely interested in 'mind mapping' - freemind's a great free product (and, coincidentally, also written in java)

There's also The Mac Pak's Santa's Stocking http://www.themacpak.com/Santas-Stocking_p_6-59.html but that's much more of a gamble over what you'll get.

I purchased the MU promo last time it was offered. Within a couple weeks after I bought that bundle, nearly half the programs were upgraded to a new version. Now all those programs are obsolete, and I'm forced to pay extra if I want the latest versions. Something smells a bit fishy.

If you go to the site, it says
"All licenses are full licenses with normal upgrade paths, less Swift Publisher, which will be a paid upgrade."
I bought Memory Miner during last year's Mac Santa. I haven't used it in a while, so I should play with the new updated version.

It should be pointed out that Nik Fletcher, writer of this post, also works with the RapidWeaver team. For example:

But, that said, Nik is a rockstar and a cool guy from my experience. Thought it should be stated as there may be a bit of financial gain here...

Josh: Look again, please. I wrote the story, not Nik.
Nik doesn't cover RapidWeaver for TUAW to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest.
