Connect360 now does DivX/Xvid
We've posted on Connect360 from nullriver several times before. This handy Preference Pane application allows you to stream media (music, pictures, and video) from your Mac to your Xbox 360 (by emulating a Windows machine). Well the Fall 2007 Dashboard update for Xbox 360 just dropped this week and, among other things, added DivX and Xvid codec support. So nullriver has updated Connect360 to version 3.2 with support for these video codecs.Connect360 remains $20 and a demo is available.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

hey mat,
i know this thread is old but maybe you can still help me!!!
i have no trouble running many a avi files on my 360 and love it...with connect360 i have integrated photo, movie, and music. i am however, having difficulties with dvd album cover art. i was looking under the latest video/audio format guidlines and it said i could use album art for my movies, they recommend no larger than 512k i believe. i am having issues getting this to work. any ideas on how-to get this taken care of. just wanna enhance my 360/mac relationship, gotta keep the fire burning

Is anyone have networking issues. I really really want this to work but i can't get either the mac or the xbox360 to see each other. I'm using a wireless DSL modem from Verizon and the mac is wireless and right now the Xbox is wired. Should they both be either wired or unwired? I am trying to get it to work before I buy the wireless adapter for the xbox. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
They released even 3.22, supposedly fixing the window for Mac OS prior to Leopard... Well, not for me :) on the latest Tiger.
Anyway, everything aside of that is working fine, so I won't complain and don't give a damn about the window.
When a folder organization kept for the video streaming ? ^^
Yeah, I haven't got leopard yet either, and the window is messed up for me too....everything seems to be working so far, and I plan to upgrade to leopard soon anyways....so oh well...
I wish they would put a version history on their site though, I had no idea this new version was to address the window issue...
oh well
ok how about this one..... We had an issue with the conversions that is now resolved music works flawlessly..... always did video is a bit of a mystery right now... I can get some to work and some, it would seem, just don't want to. i get an error code but I can't seem to sorce the actual error... The strange thing is all the files are formatted the exact same way. any ideas?
Oh and the format that appears to work best is 4:3 1280x720 mp4...
What about subtitles? :-)

December 06 2007 at 7:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell 3.21 is now out, which seems to have fixed the song playback issue, but the UI is still messed up...it still looks too big for the preference window.
December 06 2007 at 6:40 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyVideo works great with 3.2 / Leopard 10.5.1. I haven't tried streaming music since I updated so I haven't experienced the crashing.
I'm surprised Nullriver actually responded here about the crashing issue. I've sent them 3 different emails over the past 4 months regarding support issues and they haven't responded once. Kinda pisses me off actually. Still, a decent use for my $20. I get a lot of use out of Connect360.
We're looking into the music crashing issue. An update will come soon. Thanks for your feedback.

Using Tiger, updated last night to 3.2, the prefs panel is all stretched out too wide from the update though. I rolled back to 3.1 and then tried to re-update again, still got the same thing. So now about 3/4th of the system prefs panel for c360 is off screen for me, although I don't think there is anything there I need to see or use, but still sucks.
