Apple posts iTunes tutorials
It is a safe bet that many people received iPods this holiday season (I know a bunch of TUAW readers did), and a few of those people might be new to the whole iPod/iTunes combo. Apple has recently posted a number of video tutorials that cover iPod and iTunes basics. Now, if you're somewhat familiar with iTunes/iPods you won't learn much from these tutorials, but your Aunt Dora who is rocking her first iPod ever will find these videos very helpful (and you'll look like the good niece or nephew because you helped her with her new techno-bauble. Everybody wins!).

I work for a employer that has over 10,000 employees (not counting temps or contact workers) where I work as a computer systems analyst.
Most of the IT staff are Microsoft brown noses or brown neckers (much more dedicated fans). The rest are UNIX geeks and nerds.
Over the last few years I've been bringing my G4 PowerBook or (since May 2007) my 24" white intel core 2 duo iMac to work.
Obviously the 24" screen draws attention which has given me a perfect opportunity to first, let them know it isn't just a monitor but the whole computer and with our companies encrypted wireless network (MAC address has to be entered into secured wireless router and I'm a friend of the group that administrates this and they've added mine in).
I've been able to show them how great Mac OS X works and how software and security updates are compared to Microsoft's and how open Apple is about --what-- is being updated at the time of the update.
But I've also been able to show them how easy and well iPods work with Windows computers and even more so with Macs.
I've also been able to show them how people that feel they control of file placement on their hard drives are wasting their time, have LESS control that Smart Playlists, and their way also uses up a lot more of their hard disk space.
As for the UNIX people, I show them BASH (other shells are available), FINK and how Apple is fully UNIX certified and how they can run UNIX, Mac and Windows programs as well as Java.
Two years ago there was only myself and one other people on the 150 IT staff that had iPods. And two of us that have Macs.
In the last six months over two dozen of the techs have "admitted" (their words) that they have bought Apple computers and over 50 have bought iPods or gotten them for gifts.
Most of the questions they have about their new Macs or iPods are things where they expected to answer to be a typical Microsoft run around to accomplish something so they never looked for the obvious.
Of those 50 people that now have iPods and are amazed at how good it is now they have one ... more than half that haven't already bought a Mac are seriously looking at doing so since, "with a Dell or HP (etc,) you have only load Windows and Linux. With a Mac you have have Mac and install Windows and Linux too so no matter what you have what you want.
Yes I've told them about Parallels and VMWare so they know about those options too.
