Has anyone tried this service? I'm curious about the quality, compared to some of the other similar services out there.

Yeah I've ordered a hard back book of a trip I made with my son along the West Highland Way. It's fantastic quality and well worth the money, but you should take your time in iPhoto getting the book/calendar exactly how you want it to appear, and check for typos if you type any info in it :)

ive had 4 books printed this way from iPhoto, and they look really good. I just wish i waited a bit for this discount. 20% can equate to quite the discount when your doing multiple hardcovers.

@JoshD
I ordered a large hardcover for my sis in law. Nothing but pictures of her baby. Not only was it THE hit present of xmas this year, but the quality was top-notch, the paper thickness was perfect, the binding was very well done, and I am now under orders to produce four more copies for other relatives. So this is good timing.
I also ordered the 3 pack of tiny softcovers. Cottage pics of all my nephews and nieces on my side of the family, interspersed with scenics of the cottage area taken by me and my wife. Make no mistake, this is a small book, but the quality is also excellent and seeing her kid's pics in a printed book made my sister cry.
My advice - take the time to find and arrange the perfect pictures. pay attention to colour as well as theme. Use only the number of pictures you need to tell the story. And use your most high quality pictures - stuff you might forgive onscreen is really obvious in print.

May I also add that I looked at the sample books for a similar service available from a major photography chain in the mall, and the quality was nowhere near as good. Thinner paper, bad binding, crooked bits.

Yep....i heard they are really good. And i'm planning to order several after the new year holidays. Unfortunately they don't have that service in Russia, so i'll have to order them with the help of my friends in UK.
I've just order one book with my wife's portfolio with other service. But the quality is not that high& So i have a huge expectations from Apple services:)

I have used the Apple and Mypublisher service for two years now. I have had 4 different picture books via Apple and each one is over 30 pages. This year, I did a Disneyland calendar for family and ordered over 20 copies. I got the same calendar from Lulu and it looked like crap. Same file but the quality was nearly as good but it was 10 dollars cheaper than Apple. I have read that MyPublisher is contracted by Apple to do the printing and I ordered two of the same book for a side by side compare. They are identical with only the missing apple and the separator pages are solid on one and translucent on the other. Other than that, no differences. I tend to use MyPublisher because the software is alot more flexible and there are more cover options than offered by Apple.
