HierarchicalDock 1.2 is ready to go
HierarchicalDock is one of the three applications we recently wrote about (along with Quay and OldFolder) that adds hierarchical menus to the Leopard dock. It works easily: Just drag any folder onto the HierarchicalDock icon and presto! It'll behave like a good, old-fashioned dock folder. This week, Eternal Storms Software released version 1.2 of HierarchicalDock. Changes include:
- Preview listed items with Quick Look
- The Finder's color labels are displayed
- You can now set global or per-folder preferences

Does anyone know if 10.5.2 will EXACTLY restore pre-10.5 folder/dock behavior? I.e., a single click will open in the Finder, and right click will produce a menu? Or will menus just be a stack option and have the same behavior: click = menu; if you want the Finder you've got to click, move, and click; and right-click does NOTHING useful?

It's too bad you can't 'scroll' through the icons in the stacks. That would have been a good addition, since a lot of people have more than 50 apps, and a lot of people like to put their app folder down there.
A-Dock (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17479) is the best of the bunch, in my experience. Brings back hierarchical menus (up to 10 deep), allows for custom folder icons, is skinnable (although I delete the background completely), free positioning anywhere along any edge, and more. It's the only dock I use, and have never used Leopard's dock, after that first horrifying week.

Thanks Guys!
10.5.2 adds a lot of nice dock functionality including 10.4 hierarchical menus.
