This is yet another bonanza year of the iPod-docking-station compatible device if early reports from CES are to be believed. New docking solutions include jack-equipped cars, digital photo frames, iPod-compatible pacemakers, genetically modified cattle with horn-implanted docks, wearable dockware, iPod-compatible beer, and so forth. Or something like that. I got a little bored reading through today's press releases and may have embellished a bit.
Actually, the iPod-compatible news from CES this year is a bit on the slim side. After last year's Macworld-CES head-to-head grudge match, CES seems to have realized this year that it doesn't produce all that much in the way of interesting Apple-related news.

Apple - have you seen the pico projector from Microvision? Let's make that an official iPod accessory! That thing is too cool.

I still haven't found a simple way to connect my iPod to my car stereo (2004 Jeep). There is no aux plug, no cassette, but I do have a 10-disc changer. The problem I have with the current devices that I've seen that connect to changers is that there are always multiple pieces and it's a big hassle to install.
I've been using an FM transmitter, but as we all know, those things are rubbish. It sounds like a bad FM station, especially in a crowded FM market like LA.
I'd be curious to hear peoples' opinions on what are some of the better iPod/car stereo products.

Oh, also, since we're on the topic of CES -- I heard that Samsung is coming out with a new "true" HD Camcorder. In the article I saw, Jobs was quoted as saying that most so-called HD camcorders don't really record HD. But, the article didn't go into any technical details.
As an indie film maker in LA, I've used several HD cams in the past, including Sony's F900 series. Certainly they're not implying that's not HD?!?
Does anyone know wth they're talking about? Is this just marketing jibberish, or is there some technical foundation to their claims?
Cheers,
