First in line for the keynote

These fortunate guys are first in the general admission line for tomorrow's keynote; they've been waiting since 12 noon today, a full 21 hours before SJ-time begins. Granted, there are shorter lines for Platinum/Super pass holders and for media attendees, but there's even folks waiting in the Super pass line already.
We won't comment on the wisdom of camping out overnight for the opportunity to sit in the front for a 90-minute product intro, but we will say this: stay warm, dudes, it can get very chilly at 4 am during a San Francisco winter night.

I would probably do this too if I had nothing else better to do.

Oh yes, what style!
I wonder if he powers up his portable computers during the day using that jacket...

Hey, don't be dissin' the shiny silver jacket. I had one just like it, in 1982!
Beau said 9:19AM on 1-15-2008
I actually quite like the jacket on the bloke 2nd from the *left* tbh :P

The Jacket actually is currently in fashion. It was featured in the last Dolce & Gabbana show.

San Francisco? Cold? You must have missed the part where San Francisco is in California. Its freaking 50 degrees there now. It would be great if it were even half that warm here right now....

you must have never been to frisco. pretty harsh temp differential between day and night.
definitely not complaining though. i love the california sun.

I'd definitely do it if I was going to the keynote. Staying overnight in the "San Francisco winter" has absolutely nothing on the overnight stay I had for a Wii on launch day in the cold, cold Wisconsin winter =(

Cold in California?
Cold is when packed snow becomes cold enough that it's as slippery as ice, and unpacked snow blows around like sand in a desert.
If there's one thing I've learnt from the frigid north, it's this: at -40, all men are indeed equal.

Almost like Umea in Sweden and above, where, when you take a pee in the forest, you have to kick several times to break the frozen stream!

And so are Fahrenheit and Celsius.

I was there earlier tonight to check out the scene- surprisingly there were pretty many people hanging out...

uhm...it's cold out there, regardless of where you are from...it's a WET cold in SF and I cannot BELIEVE people are camping out for the keynote. I've been to a few and, well, it's cool and all, but it's not THAT cool. Good luck guys, at least you will get a seat.
but to pay that much for keynote and get pneumonia?
sigh, maybe I am just jaded.

You have to pay extra to go to the keynote?
It's just marketing!
Now I know why they stopped broadcasting it live.

Oh, no. No they're not.
