Perhaps you've seen the documentary Trekkies. Hosted by the late Tasha Yar (curse you, Armus!), it profiles several of the show's most zealous fans and by that I mean people with serious mental disorders. Did you see what they did to that poor truck? None of us would get so carried away with our Apple fandom.Just a minute. Before you set your phasers to Smug, check out the trailer for MacHeads: The Movie. It feels like a cross between Trekkies and Leander Kahney's The Cult of Mac. Several users proclaim their love, including the guy with the tattoos and the girl who states in no uncertain terms that she has never slept with a Windows user.
A few Mac celebs appear as well, including the man who isn't America's least-beloved technology pundit. The movie looks awesome, and we can't wait to see it. Not that we're obsessed or anything.

I was in the movie. The Violet Blue bit was filmed at my party as well as a few other interviews and they sat with me for about 40 minutes at Moscone and another half hour at my party with my girlfriend. The film crew was awesome and it was a pleasure to be in this film.
They filmed a lot during MWSF07 and I can't wait for it to be out.

I have to admit, its the Mac fanatics that kept adding fuel to the fire of my hatred for all things Apple.
After avoiding "them" for a year or so I began to realize my hatred for Apple wasn't aimed at them directly, but their overzealous fans. As a result I stopped denying myself access to some of the best hardware and software on the planet.
Now if only I could convince my friends the reason they hate Mac/Apple isn't because the hardware sucks, its because of the apologists, fanatical users, and the healthy dosages of Justin Long "Im a Mac" commercials every quarter.

Why do you or any of your friends care who else uses Macs? If it's that much of a problem for you, you might need professional help. I use Macs because I like them, and I like OS X. I really don't care who else uses them, and their ads are just that: Ads. Advertising. If you're getting worked up over advertising, then see the above suggestion.

I totally agree with you. I'm a lifelong mac user and the fans make me want to puke sometimes. Fortunately I stick with Apple because they make the best f'ing stuff on the planet. I mean, everything they make is absolutely golden! Apple is my life! I eat and breathe Apple!
