After spending a brief time off line (in the US and Canada), the Apple Store is back up with something new to show for it -- pink iPod nanos.It's available in 8GB only, costs $199US (just like its 8GB siblings) and is shipping for free. We thought it might be tied to a charity -- perhaps Breast Cancer Awareness -- as the RED nano is, but it's simply pink for pink's sake. Just in time for Valentine's Day.

Is it just me, or have they now changed the images of the red iPods to be more ... red? I've always thought the Apple website misrepresented the red iPod nanos, seeing as how in Flickr photographs they always look a nice deep dark red, whereas on the Apple website they looked a bit purple-like.
It might be just me, but the Product Red Nano was to be a temporary replacement for the (more girl-oriented) pink colours of yore.

So I asked my buddy how he was enjoying his new 3G nano. He said his girlfriend claimed it as hers (it's not the first time). I guess he's gonna have to get her own nano, now that they are available in pink.
