LowKey Stand

The LowKey Stand looks like a very cool concept, judging from the rendering above. It is a stand that you can perch your iMac or Cinema Display on, and slide your new Apple Keyboard underneath. It doesn't stop there, dear reader! The stand also sports an integrated 4 port USB 2.0 hub so you don't have to go fishing around on the back of your Mac for a port.
The LowKey Stand ships on February 15th, and will cost you $59.99.

Get rid of the ugly USB Hub and I'd be interested.

60 bucks for anodized sheet metal, wowsers. I agree with ryan, the usb hub part is incongruous with the rest of the design. It requires a better cutout prior to folding or omission.

Is it high enough for a macbook or macbook pro? (seems to be high enough for an Air)

The USB hub should be on the side. Now you'll have the connected cables in the way .. so extracting or inserting the keyboard below will be a hassle.
It's nice though, but I certainly hope they have some re-inforcement in the centre, and not just that smalll sheet of aluminium.. that'll bend pretty quickly. And the price... phew!

marco, I just read the product page, and it's "0.1085" thick steel, powder-coated in aluminum color". so it is not aluminum, and will not bend.
Scott, You mentioned "concept" and "rendering" but from the photos it seems to be a very real product.

Nice concept, but the USB hub ruined it. I still prefer the one I made:

(Um, good effort, but where does your keyboard go?)

Uh… Isn't the monitor already designed so you can slip the keyboard under it?

That's fine, but I've always used my Belkin USB hub as a stand for my iMac: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=199941
It's not what it was built for, but it works for me, since the iMacs don't have nearly enough USB ports for my liking.

"The perfect height of the stand provides a "home" for your keyboard, nothing will ever seem to be out of place on your desk any more."
Except your mouse, which will have its cable unceremoniously sticking out the side of the stand and won't fit inside the keyboard-onlyslot it would seem.

yes, it's nice, but besides the occasional easy access for a single removable drive, the 4 port front facing USB hub is overkill.
Anyone that is anal enough to want to store the keyboard under the display every time they are not using it would freak out at any cables hanging off the hub.

I like the design, great solution for keeping the keyboard out of reach of a toddler.

Looks Great! Now I can get a wireless keyboard and still have easy access to USB ports.

I would love this, except
1) the USB hub is unnecessarily ugly (as much as I like the idea of a 4-port USB 2.0 hub--the iMac has cripplingly few USB ports), and
2) $59 seems like a lot of money for this.

That's about the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Nice way to destroy your iMac's elegance.

Hmm.
About that price...
What do you expect from a product that is phonetically named after the norse god of mischief?

Are these USB slots fully powered? It pisses me off that even though I KNOW it's possible (and without making it more expensive, probably), the keyboards STILL use shitty low-power USB slots instead of ones that I can actually, uh, hmm, what's that word? Oh yeah, USE!

From the Website (first link in the article):
Compact power adapter that won't take up more than 1 precious outlet.
So yes, it's powered.
