Bezel HUD Quicksilver interface for Leopard
I've been looking for something like this since Leopard was released. As you can see from the video above, Juius Eckert (whose Showcase Quicksilver interface we covered previously) has now released a Bezel HUD interface for Quicksilver that perfectly integrates with Leopard. It basically has the same functionality as the built-in Bezel interface but with the Quick Look style HUD characteristic of Leopard. If you've been wanting to give Quicksilver a Leopard facelift this is it.
Thanks, Kurt!

It's by Julius Eckert. You'll know that every time you fire up Quicksilver. Don't forget!

it is very nice!
and you see julius eckerts name only the first time you start it up per boot, as i assume it, because the next time qs ist triggered, the last selection is still standing there. i've seen plugins doing worse.

I like it, but the thing I don't get is why the title bar doesn't look exactly like the other HUD/quicklook windows.
Too bad, cause I don't want 5 different HUD windows on my desktop.

I like it very much too, and I'd use it except that it has "Julius Eckert" written all over it :P
I care how my Mac looks...

Like other interfaces for QS, once you have a file selected, Julius' name disappears. And, the next time you invoke QS, it will show the last file you had selected.

@Chris
If you mean the title bar isn't flat, this is the unselected state. Selected HUD panels (for example in Quick Look) have the glossy title bar & look exactly like this one.

You're right. I looked at the development screenshots of beta's.
Kudos for the makers of this plug-in. I like!

For those of you who are moaning about Julius Eckert putting his name on it, it takes no time at all to right-click on the plug-in, show package contents, navigate to Contents/Resources/ and double click on BezelHUD.nib and ResultWindow.nib. In BezelHUB.nib, double click on mainWindow and delete the text referring to Julius Eckert. In ResultWindow.nib, double click resultWindow and edit there. Once you're done, COMMAND+S to save and you're done.

I do not show mainWindow in either place you describe. Can you please clarify?

Pretty Please? I really LOVE this but I would like to remove the name form the program.

I'm going to stick with plain 'ol Bezel... I'd rather QS match my growl updates. Adding the title bar just makes it look heavy to me.
I like the animations though - if anyone wants to add those to oldschool Bezel, I'd be all over that.

At least this one doesn't crashing when invoking the ','. His Showcase ui still does 100% of the time.

Gah...*isn't*....not *doesn't*
He noted in the QS forums that Showcase does have bugs, but he probably won't have time to get to them.

I'll stick with Showcase for now, but it's a nice update to the bezel look.

hey thanks tuaw for mentioning my plugin.
on my visitors graph in google analytics this post is currently causing the second high peek .. the first was the tuaw post about showcase. i am getting around 6000 visitors a day which is a lot for me, my motivation is exploding :)
i have worked many hours on that code, and people on the comments think it is necessary to blame me for putting a small copyright on the interface ?! whats wrong with you guys ?
anyway, to contribute to the discussion about the realness of the HUD-theme: the final is based on screenshots of real HUD-windows, but there is still a little difference - it is a bit darker than the normal HUD windows, improving the visibility especially on bright backgrounds.
thanks again tuaw, your blog is great

Thanks for the awesome interface! However, it crashes Ankur's unofficial B55 build. I'm running 10.5.2. Here's the site for the build, which is much faster:

Yea, it would make sense to make it compatible with Ankur's build.
Seeing as this is newer, has less bugs & there's more chance of this continuiing to be updated. I'd think that most (if not all) users will be moving over to that version at some point.

Hi,
I'd like to add that the new bezel is much much faster on my MBP than the built in variety! That alone makes it a very welcome addition!
