Macs at Microsoft fail to shock

Actually, let's not do this. Let's realize that Microsoft is a company and Apple is a company, and while yes, in some fields they are competitors, let's just put the whole Apple vs. PC idea to bed. Guess what: a Mac actually is a PC. It's a very, very well-made PC (in fact, the best made, in this blog's humble opinion). And why wouldn't the folks at Microsoft want to use the best PC out there to develop and run their programs?
The battle between Mac and PC was cute back during the PowerPC age, when there were major differences between the two platforms. But things have changed: Macs run Windows, dogs and cats are lol-ing together, and the war's just not worth fighting any more. Of course Microsoft employees use Macs -- who wouldn't?

Let's all point and laugh: the folks at Microsoft use Macs! Because, you know, they make Windows, and Macs aren't Windows, and Microsoft...

True, stuff like 3DS Max isn't available on Mac's but my uni has some kick-ass Mac's with XP on them that run 3DS as if it was Paint or something... making Mac's my computer of choice.
Why stick to one when we can have the best of both worlds!
I think the best part about this post was when he mentioned slapping a Windows Sticker over the Apple on his MacBook. Not that I really care about the "war." I am a mac user but I DO know about PCs and I prefer Macs by a long shot. I just find the sticker ironic because of all the first jokes about Vista just being a rip-off of Mac OS X. Maybe they are getting lazy about copying Apple and they are now just going to buy Apple Products, slap a Windows sticker over the apple, and then re-sell them as the new Windows products. ha!

Interesting Mac on the pillow... I don't recognize the design... Seems "fatter" than the Air, might be a new design for the MacBook. If it was, I would be interested in having one.

Ah, c'mon, it's SO MUCH FUN, poking fun at hokey Windoze, especially at TVista! It's not about the machines, it's the OS. And there there really is a WORLD of difference. TVista may look like OSX, but it sure ain't!!!

You do realize that picture is a fake from the Conan O'Brien show, right?
IIRC, the joke was something like "Bill and I got so drunk, he woke up the next morning with a Mac."
I mention it for all the people who wanted to know if it was real.
I listen to the Major Nelson podcast (greatest stuff for Xbox 360 news) and the Major admits that he uses a Mac and that a ton of other folks use Macs in the office. Well, maybe not a ton, but he did say that there are a lot of Mac users (and he works right on the campus - One Microsoft Way.)

February 25 2008 at 9:14 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt's not news when the world's largest software company doesn't eat its own dogfood? Do you really think every one of those Mac users at MS is running Boot Camp?
Come on. If the war's not worth fighting any more, even for someone WHO WRITES AT A MAC BLOG, then maybe you ought to go buy a Dell.
If you read the linked post, you would see that it is about exactly that: Microsoft developers (in this case, on Windows search) running Vista in Boot Camp on MacBooks.
Dell, HP and Lenovo laptops are not "MS dogfood," they're hardware. Apple makes Intel-compatible hardware too, and it's good.
Um, did anyone say they didn't like the Mac?
After all, they do DEVELOP SOFTWARE for OS X...
And don't go pulling the "Mac BU is a separate world from the rest of Redmond" crap, there are probably plenty of Mac-heads (and hey, even neck-bearded UNIX fans) on the MS campus.
