What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I penned a post reassuring people that the Time Capsule would, in fact, be shipping on time (where on time is 'by the end of February'). We are now getting reports that people who pre-order the Time Capsule are receiving shipping notifications. See? Nothing to worry about.
Sadly, my Time Capsule is still being prepared for shipment, but it should ship by tomorrow. Soon I will not have to hang my head in shame when someone asks me about my backup strategy.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Looking forward to thorough reviews before I buy. I want to know all the ways this thing can be used, aside from the generic Time Machine, like how the drives hanging off the USB port can be used/will behave?

Yes I want to make sure my AppleTV will be able to stream from the internal HD and any external HD I plug in to it before I grab it.

Yes, I've got older Airport Extreme and Express in the house - I'd get one of the new Extremes with 802.11n - IF it had a firewire port! I've got a number of external firewire 400/800 cases and drives already, just don't want to go to something slower at this stage!

I'm hoping the stores get them today. I called the Bay Street store (CA) today but they hadn't gotten their daily shipments in.
Are stores supposed to carry them today?

I'm waiting as well. I LOVE the integration w/ the router, but I want to know the limits.
Lately Apple's been crippling all of their hardware via software, so it'll be interesting how flexible this thing is.
I have $125 at Amazon burning a hole in my pocket.

Now that Time Capsule is out, I can't wait to see if my recent investment in an Airport Extreme Base Station + external hard drive for the purpose of remote TimeMachine backups will prove to be a waste or not... Crossing fingers for a firmware update to the AEBS that will allow Time Machine to perform remote backups on an external HD...

I want to know if external drives will "just work" to expand the capacity for Time Machine backups, or if they expect us to buy additional Time Capsule boxes.

Huh? Yesterday, my Time Capsule order was being prepared, now I've been downgraded to Not Yet Shipped. I'm new to Macs. Is this common with Apple. First they say they do, then they say they don't!

Being Prepared is putting it in a box and slapping a label on it. Not Yet Shipped is the next step; it means it's waiting for pick up.

Anyone know whether you can hang a USB hub off of the USB port and share multiple devices (printers, drives)? I didn't see anything that specifically referenced this on the online spec sheet.
Well, suppose I will find out soon enough since mine is suppose to ship in the next couple of days...

As with the Airport Extreme, Apple says this:
"The included USB port is great for sharing a printer throughout your wireless network. Time Capsule and the Bonjour networking technology let everyone in the house or office — Mac and PC users alike — take advantage of one centrally located printer. And if you want to share both a printer and an additional hard drive, you can. Just connect a USB hub to Time Capsule. Whatever the combination, Time Capsule divides and conquers."
You can find it on this page: http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/wireless.html

All the Best Buy stores in my area are now showing Time Capsules in stock. I'm tempted to go get one tomorrow, but I'll probably wait for some reviews.

Despite preordering and it saying it would be shipped by Feb. 29th, my order has said prepared to ship since the 28th and hasn't changed and it is now the 2nd. Frustrating.
