Carbon Copy Cloner 3.1

I'm a big fan of SuperDuper! myself, but Carbon Copy Cloner has also long been a great, low cost option for cloning hard disks in OS X (indeed it's been around longer). Mike Bombich has now released version 3.1 of CCC implementing rsync 3.0.0 "to provide even greater fidelity when backing up using the 'Copy selected items' backup method." Other improvements includes an updated interface and various bugfixes, etc.

Carbon Copy Cloner is a free download from Bombich Software (donation requested).

Been using CCC for the last year. It's a great app and once a week, I make a complete backup of my internal hdd on my MacBook Pro 15". It's easy to use and if can do sector-by-sector copy on non-active drives. Drop Mike a 10 spot if you find it useful.

Hey does any one know if I wanted to install a bigger hard-drive in my MBP, can I use this (some this with some terminal scripts) to copy my current drive (with a bootcamp partition) to the bigger one?

Hmmm, I used this to clone my Macbook Hard drive from a 160gb to a 320gb. Then I follwed this tutorial:

Then voila. Hope this helps.
