New Jersey Apple Store ready to open

Doesn't "Cherry Hill" sound lovely? It will sound even sweeter for Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based Apple fans this weekend when a new Apple Store opens on Route 38, next to A|X Armani Exchange and M•A•C Cosmetics (that's right, a Mac store next to a MAC store). The doors will open at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 29th. You can get full travel directions here. This will be The Garden State's 10th Apple Store.

Residents of Philadelphia will also benefit, as this store is about 5 miles away from town (for some reason, Philly itself still lacks an Apple Store).

As usual, we ask any TUAW readers who visit the store to share their stories and/or pictures.

Thanks, Rico!

The perfect spot, in location and irony, would have been to replace the Broad St Tower Records with an Apple Store.

I think the new shopping/hotel development proposed by the convention center area may be a good area. I think they are envisioning a pedestrian walk, something like Lincoln Rd in Miami.

Just went to it today for the opening. A LOT bigger than the Sagemore store. Also, a Cherry Hill store was long rumored. It has been on the job posting site for about 2 years now. I'm glad they finally decided to open it. If you get the chance, you should definitely check it out. It's very nice.

Even though Cherry Hill is only a few minutes from Marlton, the less you actually have to drive IN to Jersey, the better.

I kid.

I grew up there. A reason to go back!

I am also surprised about the Cherry Hill location because Marlton is definitely about 5 miles from Cherry Hill. The Sagemore location must do really well. You have to consider that we have 2 of everything around hear (at least). There's 2 best buys, 2 barnes and nobles, 2 lowes, 2 home depots, about, 10 targets... etc... I guess there's alot of spending going on around here. The atlantic city apple store is not to far from here too. I hear that whole pier does not do that well though.

The King of Prussia Mall has an Apple Store, probably because it's the largest mall on the east coast and people come from all around including Philly to go there.

once again, apple can't get a store in the city.
Ardmore is by far the best of the 3 existing and i doubt Cherry Hill will be any better than Sagemore.

why one is in Cherry Hill is the same reasoning that one is in Armore: let's build an Apple store 5 miles away from the existing one becasue that's where the money is.

and no, Springboard is no Apple store.
it lacks ambiance, and their set up dates to 1994. certainly better than Bundy, but a far cry from an adequate substitute for an Apple Store. i can't imagine Apple having that much respect or viewing Springboard as a legitimate threat.

could you imagine Apple on Rittenhouse? how about where the Sharper Image is going to close? nice local.
whomever is regional planner for Apple's brick-and-mortar has absolutely no love for the city and seriously disrespects us, even indirectly.

my ranking goes:
Ardmore (best space, local and it's neither a mall or Jersey; nuff said?), Sagemore/Cherry Hill, KoP (the absolute worst experience for an Apple store, and i've been to many)

Lacks ambiance?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

To the contrary, it has better ambiance than actual Apple stores.

What exactly do you mean that the set up dates to 94? Have you even been in there lately?

They prop the door with a Mac +.

Where I come from, thats pimp.

wow, my thoughts exactly re: Princeton Apple store.

downtown on Nassau st, or at Marketfair would be great locations and certainly upscale.

I had to go up to Bridgewater, a 30-40 minute drive, last time I bought stuff.
