If you're hoping to go to WWDC on a student scholarship, better get applying soon. The deadline is fast approaching. Get those applications in by the 10th of April. Scholarship winners will be notified by email by the end of April.
The WWDC scholarship offers a free ticket to WWDC with complete access to all tech sessions and special events, saving you somewhere roughly in the neighborhood of $1600. (We previously wrote about the scholarship here.)
What's more, there's usually an all-day event just for student developers plus a career fair where you can meet hiring managers from many Mac development companies.
Thanks Joseph Agreda

It's purdue.edu (the school), not perdue.edu (the chicken company).

They killed the all day student event last year (I was awarded the scholarship in both 2006 & 2007). The career fair was moved from the Sunday Student Event, to the second evening of WWDC in one of the WWDC lounges.
As someone who has gone twice, if you are in to Mac programming, do yourself a favor and apply. Sure, you'll have to cover your airfare and hotel, but you'll have an amazing experience, mostly on Apple's dime.

yeh what's with the chicken school... i go to purdue and i'm pretty sure i've never seen a chicken here to date. also wwdc rocks... iv had the scholarship in '05 and '07 (got the boot in '06). it has been great both years, modulo the shitty treatment in '07. as a lifelong mac person i have to say it's almost surreal. hell i once swapped greetings with wil shipley while getting cookies!@#!@#!@#! i'd pay just for that. :p
im applying again this year for sure.

The contest says you must be a student to apply. I am and am also a student ADC member. However, I am graduating at the end of April.....can I still apply?

I guess you have to be an "experienced" student developer right? How will they judge?

No, you don't have to be experienced. When I applied in 2006, I had only tinkered with Cocoa. Most of my developing was done using PHP/MySQL/Javascript and Java. I'm sure having Cocoa experience helps, but they seem to look at a variety of factors. Last year, I met a scholarship winner who had never used Cocoa, and who even had the gall to show up to WWDC with a ThinkPad (yeah, he got a lot of looks throughout the conference). Be as persuasive to your cause as you can in the submission letter, and you have as good a shot as anyone. Good luck!
