After applying this update (I have OS X 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6.2 and iPhoto 7.1.3) Front Row version is still listed as 1.0, dated November 07 - anyone have this experience, has the update actually been applied, do I need an earlier Front Row 2 for the update to work???????
April 22 2008 at 11:14 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDid anyone else run into problems during the latest updates (iTunes, QuickTime, FrontRow)? I got an Mac Mini PPC G4 and after installing the updates, the system doesn't reboot. It shows the blanck desktop background image (no Dock, further icons etc.) and the mouse cursor (movable) for approx. 4 hours now. No hotkey combination works. Power managment seems to work, as the display goes on standby after the specified time and wakes up after moving the mouse. Didn't try a manual shutdown using the power switch. Judging from the temperature of the airflow the CPU seems to be on high load. Is it possible that the update performs an extensive HDD/filesystem/file permissions check afterwards?

I can play them but they're choppy as hell.
I would like the ability to play an entire list of music videos concurrently(like I can in iTunes) as opposed to the way it is now when FrontRow takes you back to it's main menu after every single video.
Grrrrrrrr.
I see that they have not bothered fixing it so that my tv shows are organized by season.
Its okay. I like having South Park listed 11 times.
And five Family Guys? Perfect.
Why would I want Star Wars in one folder, when I can have all six in a big sloppy pile?
Bravo.
I think I will go buy an Apple TV. Because that is what this boils down to. Keep Front Row inferior so that we go spend more money. I love Apple but this is a little upsetting. I mean, its no big deal. But I need something to whine about and this will do for now.
dangit, it still won't directly control your itunes. it runs as its own program, instead of a front-end for itunes. when you are playing a song in itunes, then open front row, it stops your current song. when you're in front row playing a song and exit it, it stops your front row music and you lose your place.
terrible. i want the old front row back, from tiger.
they could fix that, but then they would need to add the iTunes code in - which would need to be updated with every iTunes update.
I hope this fixes my issue of crashing when playing audio podcasts where the screen goes black, but I can't close the program and have to hard reboot.
