BusySync 2.0 ships, adds Google Calendar
After six weeks in beta (not long at all in Google-weeks), the new version 2.0 of iCal-sharing tool BusySync is out. The headline feature for 2.0 is of course the new iCal --> Google Calendar synchronization capability, which opens up a wide world of cloud-based options for families and workgroups already using the LAN-based sync of earlier versions. You can keep multiple iCal users synchronized (even on the same machine), sync remotely via Google, and more. There are plenty other options for syncing your calendars with gCal, but if you need to keep more than one user's iCal coordinated (think family schedules!) then BusySync may be the product for you, starting at $25 per seat. The guys behind BusySync have a long history with Mac calendaring (including creating the

It would be nice if Google Calendar allowed for CalDAV access for Mac users.
Is there anything like BusySync for the Address Book?
Why not just sync Google Calendar and iCal for free using Plaxo? It works great for me. You can also sync Outlook and other services too.
April 18 2008 at 8:18 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyplaxo was totally unreliable for me. sync errors all over the board, and a long list of known bugs in their forums, without any ETA for bugfixes.

Currently using gSync and does everything i want it to do.
Since Google released an automatic sync with Outlook for Windows Users... I can only imagine that the Google Mac team will soon have a FREE sync option for iCal and Google Calendar.
Yeah I am hoping that too. I'd love that.
I'd only really use it sync between my iPod Touch calendar and google calendar, so it's not currently worth me spending money on.
That's what I'm waiting for too. Not having the sync right now isn't a big deal, but it will be nice when I get my iPhone after the new ones come out.

Agreed. I got tired of Spanning Sync and its problems and I've been using BusySync for about a month with absolutely no issues at all.
April 18 2008 at 6:18 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI had nothing but trouble with Spanning Sync, and I hate their yearly fee. There's no need for some company to interject themselves between your Mac and Google.
BusySync has been zero problems for me. I don't even use the local sharing features -- just me and one Mac here at my house -- but it's cool that they're in there. I paid my $20 (beta price) for BusySync and haven't touched it since I installed it a couple of months ago. It just works and I never even think about it.
