Cheap iPod touches at Woot
Have you been hesitating to buy an iPod touch because they cost too much? Or are you looking for a spare development unit? Or wanna just say "Happy Mother's Day" the right way? Today's Woot/Yahoo deal of the day is selling an iPod Touch for just $225 (including shipping). You can pick up an 8GB iPod touch -- and join that whole iPhone/iPod revolution thing. G'wan. I know you want to. Dump the iPhone-free TUAW feed and become assimilated.
Thanks, TedB.

It was somewhat obvious...being the sale was through Woot... but still...
Somewhere on this post, it should note that these ipods are refurbished units...

and have a shorter (60 days vs 1 year) and possibly more hassle filled warranty (its with a third party).

Also, they are not refurbed by Apple, and only have a 60-day warranty. I was tempted, but the details of their condition are just too sketchy for me.

Apple is selling them on the refurb store for $229 w/ free shipping...So whats the big deal about this.?
Does this post have anything to do with AOL and Yahoo buddying up?

IMO Apple products on woot are not aimed at those who already know about other discounted avenues. $5 for the longer warranty is a nonissue for me.
(these are presumably both original release software? Wait till June 9th for the touchOS v.2 release before buying the sw upgrade either route.)

Yeah, I like Apple refurbs but 60-day 3rd party ones don't sound like that good of a bargain.
I actually only spent $250 on my touch. $279 - 10% for trading in my 4th gen.

Nice deal, considering the 8Go Touch are sold $415 in the French refurb store...
One day it'll be cheaper to fly to US to make my shopping.

it already is: just want a medium MBP and fly Icelandair. While you're there, buy some itunes gift cards.

No problem for the tip TUAW. It is a great deal I thought should get out to the masses.

I paid $239 last week at the local BX, and it has the full warranty. Considering how often my stuff breaks I think it was a better deal.
