moshi zephyr MacBook cooler

There are plenty of Mac portable stands and cooling devices out there, but few can rival the moshi zephyr for good looks. This cast aluminum stand incorporates a "high-thermal conduction interface compound" that contacts the bottom of the Mac and draws heat away to the heat sink and an "USB-powered ultra-silent fan (<20db)." The company claims around 10 degrees F of heat reduction on both the MacBook and Air.

The moshi zephyr seems to be designed for the MacBook and MacBook Air only and is available in silver or black for $75.

Do you really think its "ultra silent"
Many devices that claim to be this way just make quiet droning noises that are even worse.

I emailed their customer support about zephyr for MBP. Here's their reply:

"We are working on a Macbook Pro series that will be a bit larger. I don't have any of the details until it is released but it should be similar to the 13" one. It should be available the second half of this year."

I have the Zefyr for my MacBook 13" and I can tell you that it works perfectly. For those of you that are used to working on an extremely hot machine (especially if you like to game on your mac) then you need to get this. You can literally tell the difference just by resting your hands on the keyboard. You don't feel the heat emanating from it like it does without the cooling system.

For those that are skeptical, there have also been 2 other external reviews done on the cooler and they found the same results (about 10 degree F drop)

Speaking of fishy graphs, both graphs have zero time temperatures that are different and significantly above the stated ambient temperature. Odd.

A device that draws USB power without negotiation and pretends that same power is still available to other devices by providing a passthrough port?

Uh, no thanks.

I'm another person that would be interested in one of these for the MBP.

Looking at the graphs they have on their site, I'm a bit sceptical. At the end of the 60 minutes shown, both temperatures are still on the rise. Shouldn't they continue until the equilibrium level?

Sounds pretty cool. I wonder why they haven't developed it for the other laptop systems?

now if they only made one for the MBP, I think it needs this more than the MB, and MBA.

Just get something that doesn't look as chic for half the price and the same functionality.

With that logic, no one would buy Apple computers.

Oh yes, with that in mind I'll make sure to point out to you all the differences an O.S. and platform can make as opposed to the uber-complexity of A COUPLE OF FANS. Oh wait, no I won't. It isn't worth the time since you already show massively flawed logic.
