Playing on the MacBook-Air-in-a-manila-envelope meme started by Steve Jobs at Macworld Expo 2008, Marware has announced the sexy leather C.E.O. Envi sleeve for the MBA. The $89.99 C.E.O. Envi features a premium leather exterior and a soft lining, and is designed to be used either on its own or in another bag. A magnetic closure keeps the sleeve safely shut, while the interior lining protects the exterior of the MacBook Air from scratches.Of course, it's too late for my MacBook Air, which is beginning to look a bit scuffed up on the bottom. But I may still look into one of these sleeves as a way of preventing even more scratches.

TUAW, can you please suggest good-fitting sleeves (not bags, backpacks) for Macbook Pro please? I've had my Pro 15" for a month and until now, it's caseless. I used to have a sleeve for 12" Powerbook from Marware and it fit perfectly. I bought Neoprene Incase sleeve for 15" Pro from Apple online store, but it's too wide. :( Please please please.

You need Invisible Shield protective Film ($55) - then the bag can be anything the it fits into as it won't get scratched

IMO getting the radtech screensaver is a must as well because the keys can mark the screen... I've had my MBP for a year and it looks like it new.

Maybe they should just call it Envy.

Personally, I like the scuffed up Apple look - purely because my 18 month old MacBook (September '06 - *just* before Apple updated them!) still looks better now than PC laptops half that age. Ok, so it's rather scratched (and I really ought to clean my keyboards more often) but there's none of that ridiculous rubbed off colour look that usually plagues any plastic with a colour other than black. Similarly, my iPod 5G (which is the same age but, unfortunately for it, is in the hands of my little brother since I bought my touch) is all scratched up on the back but my god have you seen the sort of state cheap MP3 players end up in after a year? I'll take scratches, thank you!
On the other hand my phone, a Nokia N73 just over a year old, is getting embarrassing to be seen with. The silver on the front is scuffing off in the corners to reveal a rather ugly white plastic, and the quite beautiful deep purple is suffering the same fate (although not so much, and the black it's revealing isn't that bad). I used to think that people who buy a new phone every 12 months were being just a tad silly, but I'm not sure I can stand this excuse for a high-end handset until September when my contract runs out.

Tucano, Segai or Shinza have beautiful and useful sleeves and cases.
I prefer Segai.

Can anyone comment on the Tucano Second Skin "sleeve" please? (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TJ953VC/A?fnode=home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/notebook_cases&mco=MTA4MTky)
I'm thinking of getting it from the Apple online store, but I wouldn't want to be disappointed (again). How's the fit? Does it have a tiny bit of "padding" or is it really just like a cloth-like "protective" layer?

I had the Tucano and I do NOT recommend it. I thought it wasn't very good quality for the price and kind of "bulged" in areas where you see the seams/design on the outside of the case.
What I do recommend though is the Booq Vyper M2 (http://www.pivotgear.com/products/sleeves/booq/vyper-m2). Booq's items are of awesome quality (I also recommend their bags such as the Vyper Exo M.

Does this really sound like such a good idea placing it close to the computer ?

I got the Vaja leather sleeve for my MBA. Soft Argentinian leather in your choice of colors, ABS shell and optional personalization. It looks quite a bit nicer, too.
