iTunes Video Stores coming to France
Over at MacGeneration, Christophe Laporte and his friends have discovered a nearly-live French iTunes Video Store. If you'd like to check it out yourself, search the store for "desperate" and click on Les Saisons TV.
France will join the UK and Germany with transatlantic video stores. Episode pricing falls between €1,99 and €2,49, which is pretty steep given the strength of the Euro. More details and pictures are here.

Unfortunately as steep as it may seem, it's usually the price of other VOD offers. And unlike VOD, which limits you to only 24 hours of "ownership", at least here, you buy the shows (screenshot shows "acheter": buy, not "louer": rent). So it's not bad at all. Last year, when they tried to "fight" piracy of the new Heroes season, and offered the episodes with French subtitles only hours after they aired on NBC, you could rent them for 24 hours for 2.99€ each, although you could buy them in packs of two for 4.99€ but had to wait a week then as pre-buy wasn't possible...
So if the episodes are available within a reasonable delay, this is a great news!

A season costs 50 euros, that's about $78!
And it's DUBBED in French! Do you know how ridiculous Sayid from Lost sounds when he's dubbed in French?
