Apple iWork for Business online seminar

Apple has posted a online seminar on using iWork '08 in a business environment. Presented together with Rebecca Breitenkamp, the CFO of a biotech company that uses iWork internally, the half-hour video goes over some of the basic ways that Pages, Numbers, and Keynote can be used in a corporate setting. It not really a step-by-step tutorial, but more of a series of examples of how well iWork functions on what many folks think of as Microsoft Office's turf.
To watch the video you will need need to complete a free registration.

Let me preface my comment, by saying, I am 28.
That being said, Who wants to take classes from a kid?
I know i was upset when i was 17 and knew more than the rest of the world about computers, but since i didn't have a degree, they didn't care, but seriously....Doogie Howser?

I met this guy! He's awesome, and seemed to care about stuff we had to say. Good to see he's getting his dues. iWork is an amazing product, though in my opinion it's not being marketed very well.

I like Pages and all, but awhile back I had my Mac crash while I was writing a paper, and it was at that moment that I felt like Ellen Feiss as I painfully discovered that Pages does _NOT_ have autosave!
How Apple could exclude such a fundamental feature is beyond me. Yeah I know save often, blah blah, that certainly is important, but how many times has Autosave saved your butt?
For this reason I can not recommend Pages any more. Especially in a business setting. At least not until they add auto-save.

I use Word a lot (X -> 2004 -> 2008). When it crashes, the auto save is so old that it is garbage.
Apple+S is completely ingrained in my fingers' muscle memory now. Saved my bacon many times.
I still freak out a bit when word loads the auto recovery after a crash.. even though i know my latest save is < 5 minutes old.
Now powerpoint crashing during a save.. that's a different painful story.
Completely Off topic: Anyone notice that expose is somewhat working with Word now after 10.5.3? Even if it does have a bug of selecting the last used window instead of the selected word window when switching back from another app, it's still nice to see it progressing to functioning like a normal application.

iWork on iPhone 2.0? They want to beat Office for power users and this fits perfectly

i think Pages should work like Journler, Google Notebook, and all those other services that let you create an entry and just type away, with everything saving by itself (not even having a Save command). people who want to work the old way already use MS Office, why not do something a little bit different?

Well it's a good workshop, I learned somethings. I didn't knew about Instant Alpha and it's so gorgeous.

Apple should release a Windows version of Keynote, or at minimum, a Reader. The conversions to PowerPoint don't work very well.

This is good stuff. Hope Apple continues with the series and promote this more often.
