If your father is anything like my father, he loves getting Father's Day gifts with that personal touch ... but since monogrammed golf clubs are a bit out of my budget range this year, I'm going with an iPhoto book instead. Nothing dresses up a coffee table like a professionally printed book full of pictures of the grandkids all slathered in mud.Apple is ready to help with the giftgiving; there's a 20% book discount (use code 'springbooks' at checkout) through June 15. Standard shipping books need to be ordered today (June 3) for delivery by Father's Day, and express shipping gets you an extra few days (June 8 order deadline).

Apple's not as touchy-feely as they like us to think. The coupon for the Mother's Day discount was LOVEMOM. But for Dad? springbooks. 'Cause only a complete case of arrested development would be wussy enough to type LOVEDAD to get a discount.

I'm really glad I read this article. I had never looked at the prices of the books because I figured they'd be outrageous. I'm really glad I did -- they're not bad at all! I can think of a couple we'll order soon...

Hey, come to think of it, has TUAW ever done a Mac-specific look at alternatives to iPhoto books? I think Mossberg did a generic (Windows-focused) one a year or so ago, but it would be interesting to see one geared at us Mac-using arteest types.
(I would search but I'm lazy.)
