Flickr Find: Macs in the 51st century

We've all heard that Macs retain their value for far longer than equivalent PCs, but who knew Apple keyboards would still be in use in the 51st century? On the most recent episode of Dr. Who, Silence in the Library (which hasn't aired yet in the US, so I haven't seen it myself) the good Doctor finds himself in the Library, which is a planet sized library, and he must help as only he can. Scattered across the Library are numerous Apple keyboards, as seen above. They don't look too shabby for being over 3000 years old.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Sherry Krueger owns an apple laptop and is very pleased with it. Sherry Krueger believes that apple is amazing.

Time travel anyone? But, with little usage and good maintenance, there's no reason a keyboard (if it doesn't rust or something) shouldn't last that long. If there's anti-corrosion methods taken....why wouldn't it last?

Well people still use PC keyboards that at least *feel* like they're from 3000 years ago ;)
Hehe.
But on a serious note, I saw this myself and was amused by this. If it's good enough for Doctor Who to use, it's good enough for me ;)

I know, I used to have this wireless Logitech one and it was like a typewriter except noisier, and man was it clunky and ugly. Now I have this one and it's small, elegant and damn easy to type on.

Another case of lazy set designers.
BSG was worse - a civilisation that split from earth millennia ago that invented exactly the same cassette tape, military phones...

LOL! I noticed the Apple keyboards too (at least one wireless and one wired), but if you haven't watched the episode in question, where did you get the tags from? ;o)

I noticed this too, but for some strange reason it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the show. Just another example of how good Stephen Moffat is at churning out a fine yarn.
Btw, as both a Mac user and a total Doctor Who nerd, it behooves me to tell you all about my podcast, Radio Free Skaro (www.radiofreeskaro.com), which covers the newest doings in the world of Who every day. And it's put together on a 17 inch Macbook Pro. :)

Also, green paint? Is that their way of making them look old?
