iSlayer has released version 1.3 of
iStat menus, the powerful -- and free -- Mac system monitoring app. There are so many changes that the
release notes for this latest update take up an entire page of the iSlayer website. Some of the more notable additions include:
- Monitoring power, current and voltage sensors on PPC and Intel Macs
- Controls for PPP and buttons for copying IP (Leopard only)
- Improved support for VPN connections
- Better MacBook Air temperature monitoring support (w00t!)
I use their calendar / time menu (see screenshot above) in place of the standard Mac time item in the menu bar. I also have to admit to an obsession with following the temperature of the CPU on my MacBook Air.
iSlayer requests a donation if you use and like iStat menus.

I love iStat Menus and upgraded to the new version yesterday. BUt I have a question: how did you get your time/date all the way to the right corner of the screen (next to the spotlight icon)? I would prefer iStat's date/time as you can actually, you know, *display the date* in the menubar; but I always have my wifi indicator and battery control in the way, not to mention other iStat icons, and it became too un-intuitive to hunt for the date in the middle of a bunch of icons.

Just hold command and drag the icon to where you want it to be in the menu bar.

Thanks Marko!

Wondered this myself -- then I realized that if you click on the menu while holding the Option (apple) key, it will let you drag the item around the menu bar.

And of course, by option (apple), I meant command (apple).

Hold the command key down when you click on a menu bar item and you can drag it where you want, or off the menu bar all together.

How do you move Shimo, Dropbox, Evernote, Adium, or Google Notifier menu icons?

This doesn't work on Intel Machines. The Preference pane won't open, and I get an alert that says "version 1.30 is available. You currently have version 0.0" Did they test this at all?

Works fine for me on an Intel C2D Macbook

"It doesn't work on Intel machines" - based on your rigorous study with a sample size of, uh, one computer? It's working on my Intel MBP right now. Have you checked the support forums? iStat Menus is a terrific free app and I'd hate for someone to miss out on some of its features for a technical reason such as this. Good luck!

Oh my bad, iSlayer doesn't have support fora, I was confusing their support page with that of another company. Still, perhaps an email is in order.

I've been using this for ~1 year+ on my Rev 1 MBP and havent ever had a problem with it...try reinstalling?

If it's like MenuMeters, you should be able to Command-drag the elements to your preferred locations in the menu. I'm thinking of switching to iStat just to cut down the number of tools I currently use that done the same thing.

I like this!
How do I get the clock to be on the far RIGHT as in the screenshot, and in black too?
Mine has white background and is only on the Mid left on the menubar

Wow I looked away for a minute and now my comment is completely not needed. Where is the edit post button?

I love this program SOOOO frickin much!
I use the calendar in place of OS X's, I have the network activity monitor (awesome btw), I have the CPU and Memory menus, which are in the form of percents. Its a really great app and I would recommend it to anyone! Now for the first time ever... I think i'll go donate!

I'm guessing the rounded black clock/calendar skin only works on Leopard? My skin is square cornered and Aqua (running Tiger). Changing it does nothing. I also have no calendar nav arrows or any link to open iCal.

nvm. found it. iStat Blaqua theme. If you goto the clocks menu, top right there should be a drop down menu you can select.
