Rumor: Mac Fusion - a new developer Mac

On WWDC Eve, we at TUAW are hard at work keeping an eye out for the unknown and unexpected. We just received a tip showing what appears to be the Mac Nano computer that we've all wanted -- and it looks to be aimed towards the developer crowd.

The pictures appear to show a Mac geared towards developers on Windows and Linux systems. "Leave Windows behind. Build your Apps for OS X" states the title. While we are extremely cautious about rumors like these right before WWDC, we did have a rumor that a "new Mac" or at least an updated Mac might be released.

Thanks Jackie!

The easiest way to start a rumor, build a fake Apple web page, with no URL showing!
I can tell it is a fake simply because apple would "never" ship a device with a front-mounted Optical drive, that wasn't centered across the face of the device. SJ, would shoot somebody first!

Apple only provides comps to their web designers/developers hours prior to new products are unveiled, so the idea that this could 'leak' over a day in advance raises rather large suspicion. The wording also seems sloppy and unrefined, so I'd be very surprised if this isn't a fake.

Why would Apps be capitalized? It's not a proper noun. Fake.

The background for the logos is slightly off color from the rest of the background.

I don't think this is fake, by the fact that the buy now key is not old and not fake, just head over here and have a look, http://www.apple.com/macmini/

Cheers and happy WWDC day, http://www.wearesuperfamous.com

in the third photo you can see it says, xcode 3.5 or something like that, it's clearly not 3.0
But i think this one is a FAKE!

Obvious fake. It fits nowhere in Apple's product line, and Apple would not launch a new hardware product just for developers. It completely defies logic.

I agree with you.
Plus, how is this aimed at developers?
What does a developer need in a machine?
With the exception of game developers, not much.
So why target them specifically?

A better option would be a software pack for them.

I've been thinking for awhile that Apple would replace/update the mini with a computer that mimics the form factor of the AppleTV. However, while the computer itself looks convincing, the ads don't. There's no way that Apple would roll out a developer only machine. The market is way too small. If Apple were to make such a machine, it would be targeted to the larger consumer crowd. Plus the name is a joke. "Fusion"? It makes no sense. Apple would more likely capitalize on the "nano" branding and use that.
