Rumor: Mac Fusion - a new developer Mac
Gallery: Mac Fusion
The pictures appear to show a Mac geared towards developers on Windows and Linux systems. "Leave Windows behind. Build your Apps for OS X" states the title. While we are extremely cautious about rumors like these right before WWDC, we did have a rumor that a "new Mac" or at least an updated Mac might be released.
Thanks Jackie!

Replaces the Mac Mini with an Apple TV form factor.

It does nothing. The concept doesn't make any sense, nor does the text on that fake screenshot.

@ Darren
Not to mention that Apple typically uses that gray windows logo...

It's got the wrong "buy now"-button. It's one generation too old. I can't find any pages on apple.com that uses it in this design iteration. So... FAKE

All of the commenters on this post need to see one thing, in reference to how Apple "never" uses the colored Windows logo:

You guys fail.

Excellent prediction... The marketing collateral isn't really on par with Apple, though. So I call fake. But this seems like a Mac Apple would release.

What's the difference between this and a Mac Mini? Hell, it's a computer that's as slim as a DVD drive!
If this really was a developer machine, I'd think they'd probably ditch the drive altogether and advocate wireless disc drives like the MacBook Air. But whatever. It's someone's 15 minutes of fame I guess.

Im not sold on this. When you go to macfusion.com you'd expect to be redirected to apple, but it isnt. This would be a great replacement for the mini though. Id look into getting one for sure.

If that is your case against it then the MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini and many other products aren't real.

Oh come on, that Mac + Win + Linux thing has an uneven white background. I scream fake.

Yeah, I think it would be more convincing without the Mac+Windows+Linux thing.

Agree.
Sooo Faaake!
marcipano said 1:29PM on 6-09-2008
You think so ? It's looks like a metallic white, or reflected (maybe aqua).
deadesq said 11:06PM on 6-08-2008
I think the people at VMWare would be very unhappy at a mac product by the same name as their software product.

when has that stopped Apple before. Apple seems to be on the name stealing roll lately... why not from their ISVs... gotta "take one for the team" if you want to play in Job's world.

Unless they're bundling VMWare Fusion with this !
Justin Williams said 11:07PM on 6-08-2008
Although, this might explain the "snow leopard" osx that we are hearing about. Perhaps thats a modified or developer os for this piece of hardware...... Probably not.
