This update adds support for AVI files at least. I haven't tried other types of movies yet. It works with the Casio Exilim EX-V8 now. Here's a MacRumors thread I started on it.

Do the new versions *require* Quicktime 7.5?

If so, do the old versions *work with* Quicktime 7.5?

Can any users confirm any other reasons to update?

Yeah, the updates must have something to do with Quicktime 7.5 since they didn't show up for me until after I did the QT update a few minutes ago.

Not showing up on my Macbook. But I'm just getting the Quicktime update now, so maybe after I finish that.

My guess is no. iMovie '08 wasn't made for people like me that aren't making uTube videos.

I make family videos like high school/college soccer games and plays (which written permission from the schools) and make DVDs for the kids in the games and plays.

iMovie '08 just is not up to doing that.

I know, I know, Apple isn't updating iMovie '06 anymore damn it. Final Cut Express is more than I need ... I know, talk to the hand, talk to the brick wall, all in all it's just like, talking to a wall.
