Jerome, where's my mirror?

Gizmodo's Jesus Diaz has a wonderful solution to the problem of videoconferencing on your 3G iPhone: compact, convenient and battery-free!

Okay, we get it: a camera on the front of the iPhone is probably a pretty useful idea. Although there's something oddly compelling about turning a videoconferencing session on the iPhone into a Morris Day and the Time concert....

O-wee-o-wee-o!
It's "The Bird" for me. LOVE that song!
SQUAWK! Hallelujah! Oh oh oh oh!
Pfeh! Top-40 Amateurs!
For me it's a toss-up between "My Drawers" and "The Walk" though "If The Kid Can't Make You Come" is a fun little tune, as well, due to the best use of the Pledge of Allegiance, ever.
I miss the 80s, dammit.
The new iphone is a ripoff....just generating more hype to an overly hyped product...

1) This is not news, its a poor joke... and not original, as it REALLY EXISTS (and the link above isn't even the clip mirror I first saw, can't find it, but its a tiny clip mirror, just slightly larger than the lens)
2) For the love of GOD, please do something about TUAWs background gradient! It crashes the iPhone! Sure it looks good, but its functionality is worthless, it is needlessly taxing processors to render a gradient, it is many times the bandwidth of the content... I can't believe its still here! Remove the background gradient PLEASE! (or offer an iPhone friendly site).
Really? It's a joke?! Holy crap, thanks for pointing that out.

June 16 2008 at 11:21 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyVideo conferencing is a total gimmick. It is fun and all to see who you are talking to for 2 or 3 minutes but most of the time you are doing something else when you are on the phone.
