CrossOver 7 supports Office 2007, Adobe CS2 and more
CodeWeavers has released CrossOver 7.0 for Mac, adding support for Microsoft Office 2007, Adobe CS and CS2, and improving "online banking integration" in Quicken 2007 & 2008. Unlike Boot Camp or virtualization solutions like Parallels and VMware, CrossOver allows you to run Windows software on your Intel Mac without actually running Windows. Other changes include various bug fixes and improved support for IE and "modern Linux" distros like Ubuntu.CrossOver 7.0 is $39.95 for the Standard edition and $69.95 for the Pro edition that includes CrossOver Games and more support. A demo is available for download.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

I don't like that they charge for it... but at leaset they contribute their code back to the Wine project...

Codeweavers are the Wine project (Alexandre Julliard is the CTO):

I tried it on Paintshop Pro 7 and Winamp....I wasn't really happy with the results. Paintshop wasn't really usable, where as Winamp loaded more or less ok, but didn't seem to have anyway of getting access to network drives which was disappointing.

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that Wine is free and already capable of doing Office 2007 and CS2. Not that I don't appreciate CodeWeavers work and contribution to the Wine project, but Google was responsible for getting CS2 working in Wine (they foot the bill as part of their efforts to contribute back to OS projects, since they bundle Wine with the Linux version of Picasa) back in February.

Get wine to run properly on my Mac and I'd agree, but Darwine is absolutely impossible to get running, and when it does run, it's horrible. So I'm sticking with Crossover for now.

CS2 is not *just* Photoshop. Google only paid to get Photoshop CS2 up and running, The rest of Creative Suite 2 is still listed as "garbage" under Wine, but works reasonably well under CrossOver.

I just tried Crossover for the first time to see if running Photoshop CS is faster than under Parallels. The Adobe CS installation failed. Back to Parallels.

Another alternative to CrossOver is to use VMware's Thinstall/ThinApp. It requires an extra step because now you have to package the application with Thinstall first, but then you can run the app in WINE with possibly better stability. See here for more info: http://www.brianmadden.com/blog/BrianMadden/Thinstall--Wine--Windows-apps-without-Windows

Not to be a party pooper, but has anyone read what their "support" of Office 2007, and the other key apps in this announcement is?
It's Bronze, which they describe on their site as:
“Applications that install and run, and accomplish some portion of their fundamental mission. However, bronze applications generally have enough bugs that we recommend that our customers not depend on their functionality.”
I use VMware Fusion to run Outlook 2003 (also a "Bronze" on CrossOver), MS Project, IE7 (does not run under CrossOver), and a bunch of other stuff.
Yeah, ok, Windows isn't free, but having MS Project or MS Outlook crash in the middle of your day is pretty much a non-starter for me. I'd rather pay the $150 for a copy of Windows, and have it "just work" in a VM.
