It was a little slow loading, but everything seems to be unchanged and working.

It's back up, 30 minutes later.
The same sort of thing happened about a week before the WWDC keynote but the outage was for a more extended period.

I can't believe people pay 99 bucks for a service that goes down more than a two dollar whore.

I literally just logged in and there are no changes that I can tell. The .Mac service has been wonky ever since the announcement about MobileMe and "cloud" computing. My SPAM filter for my @mac.com address has been letting a lot of SPAM through as of late, and I get glitches here and there in which I will send e-mail to both my @gmail and @mac addresses and the @gmail will receive it right away and @mac will take up to 2 hours to bring it in.
I call it "growing pains". Moving/updating/reconfiguring servers bites, and trying to shift infrastructure while it is being used isn't an easy thing to do...

I've purchased .mac in anticipated of push email and calendar with the iPhone - but I cannot believe how often people are reporting the service down. Apple should be able to do maintenance w/o having the ser ice out this much--my customers would never put up with this!

I doubt it; MobileMe functionality requires iPhone firmware 2.0 and Mac OS 10.5.4.

Interesting, I just copied a file to my dotmac Documents folder. It gave me a true reading as to how much was uploaded and an estimate for how long it would take.
In the past you would drag the file to the Documents folder and it would "instantly" copy over then give you no idea how long it would actually take.

My latest .Mac Sync resulted in no entries on my .Mac Address Book. I'm cancelling all syncing until this is resolved. This transition is nothing short of disastrous. Sending Mail has been sporadic also.

It lets me log-in, but basically all features (most noticeably mail) are unavailable. Mail access from third party clients (iPhone, etc.) works sporadically.

Anyone think these constant outages will stop after MobileMe's launch?

.Mac sync has .Sunk over the last couple of weeks and like many others I've been unable to perform a reliable sync - my calendars refuse to update and "old" data is stuck.
Apple support have had me unregister, register, reset sync histories, create new accounts, stand on one leg, turn around three times, bury a newt's severed ear in the garden at midnight - all to no avail just very frustrating :-(
.Mac has been "patchy" at best over the years and I'm seriously worried that MobileMe will just add to the problems.
