I'm kinda bundled out -- this overlaps too much with previous bundles (MacUpdate Spring 08, MacHeist 08 and 07)

Everyone has their own must-buy combination, but there's a lot of recycling of apps. I wonder if after two or three bundles now, from MH and MU, everyone who likes bundles has bought their bundle. Their customers are bundled-out.

And for the broader market, these are very niche products with limited appeal. How many people need SoundStudio, especially when GarageBand is on every Mac? And of those that need it, how many were waiting for a bundle?

I'd suggest trying a build-your-own-bundle bundle. Have an assortment of apps separated into categories. You build your own bundle of 10 apps, by choosing a certain number of apps from each of the categories.

Yes but many developers do they need then? Especially when developers have already smartened up.

They are realizing that the market is over saturated from these apps, caused from the exact same bundles (coupled with the MU ones). Maybe they'll come to the realization someday that they are good for customers, bad for the developers, and that they won't be able to make good deals anymore because developers who know best won't want to.

Those who have yet to buy should seriously consider purchasing it today! Quickly dash forward and try the apps and you'll know why you have to buy.

Their latest email smacked of desperation. Wish I hadn't deleted it now, it was quite an amusing read...

Allow me, Ed:

"A couple of months ago, we contacted you guys about a new bundle, designed primarily to attract new customers into the fold, and potentially power a push into retail stores.

But we found that the "best of" concept for the bundle was fizzling, and with no "Blockbuster" apps, the package seemed underwhelming for even new customers.

So we've gone and fixed this up, adding TextExpander ($29.95), VectorDesigner ($69.95) and SoundStudio (normally $79.99 on its own!) to the bundle. We think this has legs now. And of course, all of these apps will be sent to previous Retail Bundle customers as well! (SoundStudio when it is unlocked.)

There's tons more value, but of course our price point remains at the $49 price point.

So come by and check it all out at http://macheist.com, and help us spread the word. We hope you enjoy the changes we've made. And make sure to stick around, because there may be a new addition announced later in the sale. ;)"

The MacHeist bundle includes Enigmo, not Enigmo 2.
