MacHeist sale for Parallels Desktop
If you've been looking to snag Parallels Desktop version 3.0, but don't want to pay the $79.99 associated with Parallels then a summer MacHeist bundle is just the thing. MacHeist is currently offering Parallels Desktop + Mac Pilot for only $49 (US). Returning MacHeist customers receive a $10 discount, making the bundle only $39. That's a steal! In addition, the first 1000 customers to purchase the bundle will recieve a free "mystery application" (one that's an Apple award winner) which will be detailed on Friday.
Update: The rumor on the street is hinting at the "mystery application" to be either Coda or Lineform.

Too bad I just jumped to Fusion...
Parallels wasn't bad, but everything seems to be much faster under Fusion. The clincher, though, was the *horrible* tech support I got from Parallels

Fusion > Parallels
MacHeist just isnt as interesting as the first time around when it was first introduced.

Coda, Lineform, and MacPilot would be a MacHeist I'd be interested in.

Yeah, I've tried both Parallels and Fusion and have decided to go with the latter as well.

Parallels turned me off with the whole rapid upgrade path they did with a lot of pay per updates that left the older versions buggy and not performing as advertised. I could use another Fussion license but I will pass on Parallels. I would love to see route buddy in there, then I could justify paying for a map at least. :-)

MacHeist sucks ass.
They offer these great deals that a large amount of people don't have access to, simply because there is a bug that has STILL not been fixed where it tells you your credit card is invalid even though it isn't.
Fuck you MacHeist. Fuck you.

After these comments on TUAW, maybe I'll try Fusion instead, since MacHeist is a douchebag.

hum for 38% less and i get a total of 3 apps? I might have to go for this one. I have been looking for a virtualization software to do minor things on a PC with and this is pretty good deal.

I've been using Fusion as a "trial" now for a few days and thought I should buy it. This deal seemed pretty interesting instead although I haven't had any experience with parallels. But because of this negative comments I've decided to just look at a Fusion license..

I still use my Treo with Sprint, the only reason I have not switched is because I get a great deal. Sprint's Sero plan, only $30 a month and u get free web and txt a long with 500 minutes and extras. Lets see at&t beat that.

Sincerely doubt Coda being in there. Panic's never shown any interest in being in a MacHeist bundle, and I doubt they'd want to be a bonus app. Also, Coda's really more of a niche app.

Just take everything off from the URL after tuaw.com in 1Password. I used to have the same issue but figured out how to fix it.

I can get Fusion for $39 at my university. I've tried Parallels a couple times and am not very impressed anymore after trying Fusion. Parallels still has yet to add 64-bit OS support. I already have Mac Pilot too (just paid the $10 to upgrade to 3.0). I think Parallels is losing the battle with new customers and I've known of a few people that jumped ship on it after buying it when it was the only solution of its kind.

I use Fusion as well. Works very well, and for me the ability to virtualize more that just windows is what sold me. Unless parallels can do that, but I doubt it.

Parallels can do any Intel based OS just like Fusion.

cool, good to know.

Fusion > Parallels
Parallels is slow and a resource hog. Fusion has better USB capabilities and is definitely waaaaaaaaay faster. Not to mention the tech support for Parallels SUCKS!
