Time Capsule and AirPort Base Station (802.11n) Firmware 7.3.2
Most likely your AirPort (or Time Capsule) will find and download the update automatically; however, you can also visit the Apple Support Downloads page to download the installer package for Leopard, Tiger, or Windows.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Time Capsule update fixes a WPA2 incompatibility between Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g PCMCIA card and Time Capsule. Finally I can decommission my second router for my wife's work computer.

It also seems to fix the incompatibility issue with the official Microsoft Xbox Live Adapter on the Xbox 360.
I just uploaded the firmware and was successful in getting on Live via my wireless network.

I just updated mine, and my Time Capsule still insists that it's overheating, no matter what the temperature in my apartment is. I've even elevated the device using a couple of pencils as risers... not sure what else to do.

Simon - I would suggest you schedule an appointment with your local Apple store, if not, then call up the Apple Support line. They will walk you through a couple of tests and its possible that your device itself might be defective. I have already gone through two separate exchanges of my time capsule since I got it. I'm still holding out for a bit, but personally, it has been my worst Apple product experience since my faithful IIe days :'(.

Before you haul over to the Apple Store try a reset first:

This was released 3 weeks ago, not tonight. I downloaded and installed it then. Check the dates on the pages you link to--they all say June 11th.

You're referring to the Airport Utility update (software) not the TC or AEBS firmware update, which was posted on June 30th.

@ JKT: The Airport / Time Capsule firmware 7.3.2 update was released today - double check the release date on Apple's site if you like. The June 11th date you are seeing was the release of the AirPort Utility 5.3.2.

I installed the update.
I'm connected to it and its at least allowing me to connect to the network.
But:
I can't see my AirDisk (and therefore time machine doesn't work)
Airport Utility doesn't find the device on the network?!

Has anyone experienced trouble with the new airport extreme firmware update? Mine never gave me any issues until I upgrade. All of a sudden the wireless network would simply drop, when I would try to reconnect I was told the password was now incorrect, other computers would show on the network, but I could not connect to them. I eventually downgraded to the previous version.

Are you referring to this latest firmware, or the previous upgrade?
My APBS got all screwy with the last update, so I'm leery of this one.

Definitely the firmware upgrade. I installed it and started having the aforementioned problems. I reverted back to the previous firmware and that eliminated (so far) the problems I was having.

Just give me Aperture compatibility

I've had serious problems as well with the 7.3.2 upgrade, and from looking at http://discussions.apple.com, so have many others.
In my case, 7.3.2 broken 802.11n network extension by a Time Capsule from an Airport Extreme (the AE is creating the network, the Time Capsule is extending it). As soon as the Time Capsule kicks in, the Airport Extreme starts flooding the LAN with mdns queries. This also makes it very difficult (or impossible) for the Airport Utility to read the AE or TC's configurations so fixing the problem (in my case, by turning off TC's wireless mode) is difficult.

Actually I was so glad that the firmware was coming! But my problem is, that Software Update doesn't find the new firmware [neither airport utility is finding it] and if I want to download it manually, the link of the download button directs me to a new website of Apple Support (how to install the package) - But the package itself I can find nowhere... Can somebody help me?

Hi Dominik,
I seem to have your particular problem as well.
In my case when I use "Check for updates" in Airport utility, I get an error message and asked to try again.
I get the same result as you on attempting the manual download.
My iMac is working fine without this firmware upgrade, unlike some of those who have upgraded.
I wonder if its really necessary for some machines? I was reading something on that but lost the link.

Unfortunately my time machine is not working that well!
I need minutes - sometimes almost half an hour to connect to the internet wireless...
Messages are password is incorrect or Connection timeout...
If I want to upgrade via Airport Utility, it doesn't find any newer upgrades... all links to manually download the firmware is leading to an Apple support site - but not to the actual download!
May be it doesn't work, as the internet in the U.A.E. is censored?
Tom Johnson said 9:14AM on 7-09-2008
Marhaban einii!
We have troubles here in Ireland, but Internet censorship is not one of them, yet.
As you say, your delay in connection may very well be due to that problem.
As for the problem of not being able to get 7.3.2 on "check for updates" in Airport utility or the Download site would suggest to me that there has been such an outbreak of pain from those who have installed it, that they have "pulled" it for review.
I see where somebody has gone into "Security" changed the firewall temporarily to "Allow all incoming messages" and was successful. It didn't work for me, but....what's to lose.
Don't forget to reset your firewall!
