Apple releases OS X MobileMe update

Apple has released a new "MobileMe" update that allows your OS X system to "see" and interact with the new MobileMe service. As many may know, the change over from .Mac to MobileMe happened last night into the wee hours of the morning. This software adds the new MobileMe system preference pane and adds MobileMe support for Mail.app. We have uploaded a gallery of images for your viewing pleasure showing the subtle changes in System Preferences.

"The Mac OS X Update For MobileMe is recommended for users running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4 and includes general system fixes that enhance your Mac for MobileMe," Apple says.

You can download this update by opening Software Update (Apple menu > Software Update).

I am able to access almost all of the Web apps. The only that I can't seem to access is Contacts. Also, I can't seem to figure out why Software Update or the System Preferences.Mac won't show me the MobileMe updater.

Well, here's the weird thing. On my macbook pro at work, I got the MobilMe 1.0 update yesterday. But when I tried to get the update from my macbookpro at home, there was nothing. Then at work this morning I got ANOTHER mobilme update, this time to 1.1. But still no updates on my home computer. I have no idea why. Both are running the same OS.

I still don't have the update on my TiBook. It didn't show up on my MacPro either. Now the link in the comments here is broken too so I'm stranded without it :(

Still haven't got this update and everything on my Mac is labelled ".Mac" rather than MobileMe, although I'm not a .Mac user. Something to do with being in the UK perhaps..?

So did the manual install of the MobileMe package, see it in the System Prefs, but I keep getting a username and/or password error message. Odd thing is that's the username and password I used to log in to me.com so I know it's okay... any ideas?
