Apple TV 2.1 walkthrough
Today Apple released the 2.1 update for the Apple TV. The main new features of this update are MobileMe and support for Remote.app (Apple's Remote application for iPhone/iPod touch users). Telling readers what the update did is one thing, but showing is a completely different story, that's why we went the extra mile to bring you a walkthrough of the new features in the 2.1 update. Suggestion: Next time put the camera on a tripod and turn off the flash. The glare off of the TV ruins the photos.

Seems absurd that MobileMe so far is a delayed failure. Seems already over complicated, Mac Servers blowing up everywhere under Steve's over ambitious nose. I currently have critical data stuck on the defunct Mac.com and everything seems to be stuck on that service, that should be working by now.

You don't think maybe with Apple TV 2.1, iTunes 7.7 (PC *and* Mac), iPhone 2.0, the App Store, and MobileMe, their servers might just be a little busy?
I understand your frustration, but I'm extremely impressed it's all holding up as well as it is. It's a lot to launch all at once.

I jumped ahead and did this on my phone today, and was unable to navigate anything but the music selections on my aTV. I really expected a reproduction of the aTV control screen on my phone. I have to admit, I'm really disappointed in the aTV integration.

I'd like to be able to remove movies from the selection I'm shown.
There are quite a few movies I know I'll never watch. And the mere presence of 'The Hottie and the Nottie' just offends me, aesthetically.
If nothing else, it'd reduce the number of movies you have to skim through to find the new ones.

What about the rest of the new features?
- Add rental movies to a wishlist
- Browse photos by thumbnail
- Browse albums by album artwork

They're trying to make right cause of all the negative criticism...which is great! And I say Top Notch to that.

I installed the Apple TV update a little bit ago; now it seems that it is in perpetual sync mode. Going to try shutting everything down and rebooting--don't know how much of this is because of iPhone 2.0 installation as well. But is very curious.

Proper support for internet radio was added as well. Just create a playlist and add internet radio stations to it. Much cleaner that past hacks.

The "main" new features of AppleTV include more than what you showed... including a new Movie Rental "wish list"!!! Thats totally awesome!
...plus improved organization and icons for playlists
