Mobile Me appears to be up and running
I realize I post this at great personal peril, but Mobile Me appears to be working. Apple has updated the Mobile Me support page with information specific to Mobile Me, and has removed the notice about the update taking longer than usual.
After a rough first 24 hours, Mobile Me services appear to be mostly operational, although for me, Mail is still a little shaky, and everything is still pretty slow.
Even so, Internet Explorer 7 users appear to be left in the lurch: Apple displays a notice for those users saying IE7 is "not fully supported." Apple mentions on its website that Mobile Me can sync IE7 bookmarks, and features the IE7 logo fairly prominently.
Your mileage, as has been the case for the last 48 hours, may vary. It will be interesting to find out in the coming days what precisely happened, and what Apple will do to prevent it from happening in the future.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Ok, so it's all running (sort of) but has anyone else had problems getting anything resembling your iCal data into the calendar app in mobileme (or back onto your ipod for that matter)?
Initially yes, but it is all pushing pretty (slowly, but) reliably now...see my former posts re: my initial iCal issues...
July 13 2008 at 6:59 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replywhat happened to the "Share File" feature in iDisk that allows user to email large file??? it was in the guided tour video and is the only feature that i was looking forward to! I'm also disappointed that the email interface for composing new mail is the same as .mac's - no features like hyperlink editing or font editing whatsoever other than typing plain text.

July 12 2008 at 9:24 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi got a weird issue w iDisk, no matter what size i choose, it will b shown as having 9.3gb. i set 1 gb for mail and the rest for idisk..
any ideas?
Right now seems about everything is working except I still havent been able to open my address book in the webapp has anyone else had the problem as well? It seems to go into a constant loop. And I still miss iCards!
July 11 2008 at 11:54 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI used iCards ALL THE TIME!!! I will totally miss them!
My webapps contacts list was slow to load, and sometimes for seemingly no reason, it would limit the view to just a few alphabet letters, and I would have to re-load the page....But I was actually able to (slowly) edit my contacts - and have them push to all my devices from the webapp earlier today. This was nice because they have always been WHACK in .Mac...
For now, it seems like:
Push from the cloud down works seamlessly.
Push up from the iphone - seamless
Push up from desktop mail - seamless (though slower on the webapp)
Push up from desktop iCal - none; manual sync will lift it up, but you have to reload the Webapp Calendar page to see it....
So if you work from the webapps to the cloud & down; or from the iphone up...no problem...but pushing up from the desktop...slow or no go.
Gitchy-Gitchy-Gitchy....
BANG-A-RANG!!
I got desktop iCal SYNC, Baby!
WOOHOO!
Everything seems to be down again, at least here -- when I try to open MobilMe I get caught in a loop...! I guess it was too good to be true...

July 11 2008 at 7:18 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi still am not seeing the update for the system preferences.
July 11 2008 at 6:35 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAgreed, I still do not see the update in System Preferences.
However, I am starting to see iCal, Mail, and Address Book sync nicely. The push to the iPhone is now happening within a few seconds.
What bothered me was that iSync was incessantly popping up with sync warnings (I ended up deactivating that option in the iSync preferences).
Here's an oddity that I'm experiencing. In the mail app within the Me.com web interface, I want to send a bulk email to most of my contacts. When I go to the address picker within the message body, it only gives me a handful (maybe 20 out of about 200 contacts) to choose from. Is this a limitation or a temporary defect? Anyone else experiencing this?
I looks like Apple may have pulled the "share" functionality from the iDisk:

Also, regarding unauthorized billing by Apple -- my .mac account preferences were set up to renew manually, and my CC info had expired, yet Apple still charged me.
