Found footage: The Soup's iPhone parody
We love a good parody, and E!'s The Soup has produced a winner. For the unfamiliar, The Soup is a television show on the E! network that pokes fun at TV and pop culture in America.
Here's a parody iPhone ad that ran on the show earlier this week. It's really funny, with an emphasis on the pricing changes the iPhone has experienced in its first year of existence.
While we're on the topic, here are a few other Apple parodies you'll enjoy
- The "Fruit" ad in Grand Theft Auto
- The Thinkpad MacBook Air ad
- Futurama's parody of the 1984 commercial
- If Microsoft designed the iPod packaging
- They iScrewed Me Again from MadTV

Some of the people, especially 18-30 year olds clearly can't afford $80-100 a month for the next 2 years.
Many of these young people paid for the iPhone with a credit card and will continue to pay their monthly bills with credit cards. Many will probably ruin their credit and when they finally finish paying of their credit cards will actually have spent far more than the $2000 minimum the iPhone costs.
It's not on YouTube, but Conan O'Brien did a pretty funny iPhone spoof commercial, I believe it was last year.

July 16 2008 at 1:22 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI agree with The Rude Bellman. I found little to no humor in this video. I could afford my iPhone 3G if it cost 10x what it cost now.

Warning: very funny, but very NSFW.
My friends and I made an iPhone parody a while back, but TUAW never deemed it funny enough ;-)

It was featured on the New York Times, too!
Damn double post! Sorry!

Whatever spark of wit was in the idea was extinguished by the implementation. 1 out of ten = not worth the click.
