More Cowbell
Christopher Walken's 'More Cowbell' skit for SNL holds a special place in my heart. So I literally squealed out loud when I saw More Cowbell in the App Store.
Certainly not filed under Productivity, the application presents you with a large cowbell, while the voice of Bruce Dickinson -- yes, the Bruce Dickinson -- lets you know that he's gotta have more cowbell. Outstanding.
So tap away, Gene, tap away -- preferably to the tune of (Don't Fear) the Reaper. Don't do yourself a disservice.
Remember, everyone: I put my pants on, just like the rest of you, one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make gold records.

Bruce Dickinson is a reissue producer, not a record producer. "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" was produced by Sandy Pearlman.
There is no one named Gene Frenkle in Blue Ãyster Cult.
Yes, there really is cowbell in "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". It was played by drummer Albert Bouchard. Rock on!
Jordan 11:36,
I think before they do that, the lawyers for BOC should take a look at the the spike in downloads for the song and beg nbc to not send that letter.
As a Miss. State Bulldog who rings his cowbell at every game (it's a tradition here, and it causes lots of hearing damage), I have to say this is the greatest App of all time.
It encompasses everything that is Miss. State. I can't wait for the accelerometer to create the ring.
Go Dawgs!
This app has the single best review I have ever seen on the App Store:
"I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell! Finally an app that can compete with the light-saber. My wife hates my new iphone." - rKunda
Cow bell and Lazy Sunday are the only two funny things I can think of in the last five years of SNL. The only reason I was watching was to catch a glance at Tina Fey.

This begs an interesting question about the App Store though. When NBC issues the inevitable cease & desist letter to the programmers and they're forced to pull the app down, can we assume this will then remove it from all of our iPhones on the next sync?
Precisely the same thought I had.
