Project X 1.5 updated: more speed and features
Marware's project management application for Mac OS X, Project X, has received a feature and bug fix update. Project X version 1.5 requires Leopard and offers a pile of enhancements over previous versions:
- New flexible licensing system
- 60% speed improvement
- A duplicate command for duplicating tasks, milestones, resources, etc...
- Resources are dispersed to all child tasks when you drag and drop resources on subprojects.
- New project templates for Law, Marketing, Software, and more
Project X version 1.5 is a free update to current owners of the application. Steven, Any thoughts comparing project X to OmniPlan ($150)? I've been using OmniPlan and its forebearers for a while, usually to generate Gantt charts and manage small task clusters. The display gets cluttered easily, but the app does open and output to MS Project-readable files.

I would rather see Apple resurrect MacProject in an updated format that works with MobileME and the iPhone. Of course, fully integrated with iWork, iCal, iPhoto, and Address Book.

Any project management app that does not feature PERT charts can simply not be taken seriously.

Peter - they DO have PERT charts. They just call them Network Diagram Charts, which is what Microsoft Project also calls them (and I think a lot of people take Microsoft Project seriously. I believe that's also the terminology now being used by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

I would like to add that Project X 1.5 does work on Tiger but is Leopard recommended. I hope this information helps.
