iLife '08 update adds MobileMe support
As Scott already posted, iLife '08 just released a slew of updates. Although Software Update says that over performance and general compatibility issues were addressed in most products, the biggest change is MobileMe support for all iLife '08 applications.iPhoto, iWeb and iMovie are now properly linked with the MobileMe service. This should be welcome news to iWeb customers who have been unable to maintain or update elements of their MobileMe (nee .Mac) pages since the transition earlier this month.
Likewise, galleries and movie can now be published directly to the newly branded mobile offering. You know, assuming you can get the service to work.

Finally!
Seems they took as long to fix this as they took with the email.
So let's see:
1) Transition forced upon all customers (no "beta" version to try out)
2) Transition goes horribly over-time
3) iCards dropped. A few people pi$$ed.
4) No new iGroups allowed. Many people pi$$ed.
5) Many customers still without email over a week later. These people are REALLY pi$$ed. Apple gives no indication when service will be resumed. Try asking a fortune teller.
6) Apple sort-of admits to false advertising, re: "push"
7) Additional customers report email problems, who did not experience problems before (that 1% keeps growing!)
8) Problems reported with accessing the remaining iGroups
9) Features shown on online demos are missing (like the file-sharing capabilities)
9) Apple stupidly takes £121 out of peoples debit accounts or off credit cards by mistake.
10) Apple actively deletes complaints from their discussion boards about the service (or lack of).
11) Apple removes ability to post reviews of ImmobileMe on their store.
12) Thousands of confused users lose ability to edit their websites through the browser (although you'll find out how deep inside the discussion boards -- if Apple hasn't deleted the post, of course)
13) iWeb hosting will not accept the use of new domains that end in anything other than .com (e.g. .co.uk won't be accepted) How long will it take for Apple to fix this? Better ask that fortune teller!
13) Upon restoration of some customer's email, they find all their mail has been deleted. Apple quotes the ULA as saying it is the customer's responsibility to look after their data, and ImmobileMe should not be used for professional services. Translation: Screw you.
14) Apple decides this is a good time to increase the price of this product to 79Euros in the Eurozone, just for the fun of taking the piss.
Oh, and of course in true Apple fashion, this has all be done with the smallest amount of information given to the customers as possible. Even Apple's own support people haven't been told much.
Is there anything I've missed from this list?
Does anyone think it is possible for Apple to screw this up any more?
What an absolute disgrace.

You can do file sharing. Look it up in the me.com help.

Glad they've addressed the over performance. We can't have that.

One thing that I miss. Hit Counter numbers on the main .mac page. In
looking for a job, I have a counter on my resume site, and it lets me
know how many times its being hit. Now I have to actually go to the
site and see the number myself, which of course adds to the number of
hits. It would be nice if Apple would put that info in the iWeb
section in Mobile me. They have when the page was last modified, it
wouldn't be that hard to add that info.

And still you can't invite people after publishing an iPhoto photo gallery by clicking on the 'enveloppe button' in iPhoto. In the past iPhoto would create and open an e-mail with a link to the gallery, the username and password. Now al you get is a chaotic email with ads for MobileMe. Bummer.

With the money I'd spend for a year of Mobile Me, I could upgrade my iMac's RAM to 4GB.

As an aside, I am glad to see that this update has fixed the problem with photo galleries showing up correctly in Firefox 3.

...How about adding geo-tagged photo support to iPhoto? So you can click on a "Reveal Location" button on a tagged photo from the iPhone and Google Maps pops open with a pin. I want to see that happen soon.

I'm not sure about the other services, but iPhoto has been working great for me this past week, and I've been using it heavily. I welcome the updates. If it works, and Apple is pushing to make there products work even better, that's just icing on the cake, folks.
We'll see how it goes, but so far so good.
This reminds me of the updates from 10.5 to .1, .2, .3, .4. No glitches on any of the OS updates. I'm impressed. If it was due to performance and stability issues. They have all been stable fro me.
Kudos to Apple and their team.

F-ck this trainwreck that is MobileMe. I can't even log in any more. And I'm sure TUAW won't publish my comment; as they haven't done so for my last several criticisms of this horrible service. Biased much? Seems that the press hasn't truly captured Apple's huge failure with this launch; a bit odd isn't it? Calendar doesn't work, Mail rarely works... NEW BUYERS/SUBSCRIBERS BEWARE.
