When your finger just won't cut it, the iPhone Touch Stylus

Although the iPhone and iPod touch were designed with your finger in mind, for those who have trouble controlling the screen (or who have long, styled fingernails), there is the iPhone Japanese Touch Stylus.

The stylus has a flexible tip that mimics your finger's capacitive ability to control the objects on the screen. The tip is flexible, allowing for easy dragging without gouging your screen. It also includes a handy SIM eject tool.

The stylus is imported from Japan, and is available in silver or black. Both colors are $14.99 from ThinkGeek.

You know you can just buy a stylus in the video game section of Walmart or Best Buy. Get the ones for the Nintendo DS they are like $5.00 for a two pack they work just as good.

Any capacitive stylus will work, I'm sure there are cheaper ones.

For anybody wishing to write Japanese kanji/ Chinese hanzi, this is going to be fantastic. By all accounts the Chinese character recognition works extremely well, but physically writing a 20 stroke traditional character, or even something simple like "一個世界,一個夢神" (one world, one dream) is a real pain. Not that I personally would really tend to write in Chinese anyway, but it's essential when you forget how a character is properly pronounced but do remember what it looks like.

Would this also work on a MacBook trackpad?
Cheaper than buying a wacom tablet, that's for sure!

You can get a stylus that works on the iPhone for under $8 at geekgears. I've tested it and it works well. Yes, it's a hassle carrying it around.

If you have long fingernails like most women, or have sausage like fingers, then you will probably have problems using the touch keyboard, so something like the Pogo Stylus is ideal

"THIS DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE iPHONE"

Typing in all caps doesn't change the fact that you're just not listening. Some people cannot use their fingers with an iPhone, for a variety of reasons.

"Lets move forward - please!"

Indeed. And let's start with YOU.

I keep thinking of a device that you can where as a pinkie ring and then put on the tip of your index (or whatever dominant finger) to use as a stylus. Easy to carry around! Someone please run with this idea - feel free!

I HATE long finger nails. Imagine the filth and bacteria underneath them that a viewer cannot see (my only phobia!).

Looks like a great idea to me. I probably wouldn't ever carry it with me, but sometimes when using the phone at home for long periods at a time, I've wished I had something sharp to point with rather than my fat fingers. As an example, there's an AOL web-app TV guide that has hundreds of tiny little boxes to check or uncheck, and they're almost impossible to use with fingers.

The complaints about this thing don't seem to recognize that it's still optional whether you use it or not!
