Possible leaked iPod nano case shows new design
According to our sister site, Engadget, a leaked iPod nano case shows a new design that is completely different than the current nano. All this comes after Kevin Rose, of Digg fame, created a rumor that among other things, a new iPod nano might be coming in September. Beelan, a Chinese accessory maker apparently has a case ready for shipping via Alibaba. The design of the 4th generation iPod nano would appear to have a curved face and might return to its roots with a long, slender design.
What do you think? Is this real, or fake? Be sure to sound-off in the comments.

Makes sense, since now the 4G nano can play videos and all. It doesn't look good on that screen. Maybe that's why they might bring back the older shape back with a larger/WIDER screen.

If it's different from the current nano then... well, allright!
Eh, I wouldn't be surprised if it were real (the newer "fatty" nano didn't get a lot of love), but I still think the original nano had a big ergonomic edge over both of its successors. The scrollwheel on the original nano was placed a lot more comfortably for my hand - when I clutched those nanos, my thumb naturally fell to the scrollwheel, unlike the "fatty", whose wierd shape isn't even that comfortable to hold in-hand. This looks like a similarly awkward setup, although I'll give it a shot before I make too many judgements...

August 25 2008 at 10:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyGiven that the current iPod Nano isn't really nano anymore, I would welcome a return to the small form factor that the original nano gave us. Or better yet, just call the current nano what it really is - a mini or micro.
Gotta love semantics. :-P
The problem I have with the longer Nano is the ability to work with the Nike interface. A larger, no matter the profile, ipod would not mesh well with runners using the Nike sensor system. Perhaps Apple will have a new ipod which lies somewhere between the shuffle and the Nano soon.

This case could most definitely fit something I saw last night for 299HKD.

I'd say we're going to get a nano version of the touch. It won't have the same functionality as the full size touch because you won't be able to fit a keyboard on the screen, but screen takes up the majority of the front face of the ipod for watching movies.
