Final Cut Express 4.0.1 released

Final Cut Express
owners, check Software Update because FCE 4 has just been updated to 4.0.1. The detailed (and I'm serious, for Apple especially, these are detailed) release notes go over what is new and what has been added, but here are the highlights:

  • Permission issues resolved - There was an issue on Leopard systems where FCE 4 would not open a project if it contained media that the user didn't have permission to access. This has been fixed.
  • Tons of AVCHD improvements - There are now Easy Setup options for the AVCHD format/codec and better support for AVCHD cameras.
  • Improved plugin support and stability
You can download the update from Software Update.

I just bought Final Cut Express 4 Academic. Software update does not show a 4.0.1 version. Any idea why? I'm still at OSX 10.4.10. Any idea if FCE will support 1080p30 like on Cannon's HV30?

Does anyone have a direct link to the download? For some reason Software Update will not see that I have the app installed.

This disabled my serial number. Help! I'm running Leopard (10.5.4) on a MBP. I downloaded the VLK version to see if it was any good, I'm thinking of buying it but first I want the update to work so I can try an HD camcorder

If you get an answer to this let me know as I am having same problems. I want to buy, but want to make sure it works with my AVCHD files first.
Thanks

Why doesn't Apple ever put reasonable release notes on the stuff I use? I mean, seriously, it's like every time there's an update, if it's something I use, the release notes are "Bug Fixes". If I don't use it/don't care, it's all detailed like this.

I never got the whole vagueness thing with the updates. Is it a strategy of theirs for some reason, or are they just lazy?

I wish it was this detailed for iPhone Software Updates.
"Bug fixes."
You've got to be kidding me!
It's better than us running our around like blind geese trying to figure out exactly what those bug fixes are!
