iWork.
"Buy a Lexus, get M$ Office at 30% off".
Really genius offer, but anyways, Mac Office is so lame, that it hardly handles standard unicode documents. No one should buy this piece of crap, until the arrogant M$ learns what a "Major Update" is.
I tried OpenOffice on a faux-Mac and not very good... It seems like the project tends to work better on Windows, I find the Windows version is even better than Linux which is its native platform.

September 05 2008 at 7:34 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI already bought Office for $99.99 Cdn sale with a 3 licenses. My Mac is refurbished cause I hate paying pointless taxes and high prices for the same crap. My cost: $1398 flat with taxes, same model at Best Buy: $1799.99+12% tax (BC) and a $10 environmental(vanoc tax) fee.

Can't beat that!
How about openoffice? I haven't presonally tried it.

September 04 2008 at 10:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyA cheap copy of Office? Well, for starters it could be free. Or just use Google Docs. Or Pages.
September 04 2008 at 9:28 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI still wonder why apple doesn't give out iWork with every computer the same way they do with iLife. You might contest that iWork simply doesn't offer the same functionality as Office, but most of the essentials for any kind of work are there, and speaking as a student, it'd be great not having to buy expensive software for school work.
30% off on Office sounds good, but it's still cheaper to get iWork. So how about a free copy of iWork with any Mac purchase?
Hmm... maybe a guarantee that my mac won't be outdated the day after I get my cheap copy of office when Steve takes to the stage on the 9th September?
