3rd Australian Apple Store opens this weekend
Australians waited a long time for Apple to establish a retail presence in their backyard, but now the stores are popping up everywhere. Apple Store Chadstone will open on Saturday, September 13th at 10:00 AM. This will be Australia's third store to open in so many months. As ifoAppleStore points out, with all three of Australia's Apple Stores in the east (this one is south of Melbourne), there's plenty of room for expansion in the west (like Perth).
If you visit Apple Store Chadstone over the weekend, let us know! We'd love to have your stories and pictures.

i agree with Ka-Meng... the old nike store would of been PERFECT... but they didn't jump on it.
and also... didn't the chadstone store ALREADY open and close up?? my friend swore he went into the store the day after it opened...
BUT i'll be there at 10am!
josh, your friend may be referring to the Apple Reseller on the ground floor? They're still open last I checked. The retail Apple Store is on the first floor and has been boarded up for the longest of time! I might pop by one of these evenings to see if they've unveiled it yet ;)
May bump into you on Saturday!
Chadstone, still too far away and crammed into a shopping centre. How about in the city or the city, fringe, I am sure that there is enough demand in Melbourne for two...

Having said that, I agree that there should also be a mothership in the city, the old Nike Melbourne would be been prime real estate for an Apple Store, but I guess Telstra got to it first and setup a Life store instead! :S
Adelaide! Adelaide!

Um, are you familiar with Australia's population density? Pretty much everyone lives in the east. Perth is the only place west of Adelaide that might conceivably support a store, unless Apple wants to capture the elusive dust and wallaby markets.
And they specifically mention Perth as a place in the west of Australia where an Apple store should open.
