iTunes 8: Ready for download
Many new iPod related announcements occurred at the "Let's Rock" event today, but Apple also updated the software that powers all of those inventions: iTunes. iTunes 8 includes many new features, and it's now available for download. While iTunes isn't yet showing up in Software Update, you can download it straight from Apple's website. So, go ahead, download iTunes 8 and wow yourself with the new features (and don't forget to check out the new visualizer). Update: As you might expect, the new iTunes requires QuickTime 7.7.5 for video playback -- get them both.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Anyone notice that in iTunes 8, if you purchase something on your a-TV, a new playlist is created in iTunes that shows (and lets you play!) the purchased item?
No more debating where to buy video content!! a-TV or iTunes... "am I gonna finish it tonite, or should i have it available to my iPhone just in case I dont?"
But do notes sync?!
If iT8 and IP2.1 don't allow notes to sync, that's it, relegated to the last screen with apps like uTube that I can't delete and never use.
Thanks Josh L and Russ, that fixed it! After updating iTunes and Quicktime I forgot to go back and check to see if there was anything else I needed to update.

Being able to see a whole album by just clicking the arrow is amazingly helpful, and a great feature. I'd definitely suggest what Grant said: leave the arrows there, but just have them point back to your library!

It's really nice when I'm listening to my music on shuffle and a song comes up that makes me really want to hear that whole album - I can just click on the arrow button next to the album title to select them album instead of digging around for it with Browse or Search.
I actually like the genius feature. I have tons of music that I bought and listened to once and wasn't in the mood for. This brings some of that back into the equation

iTunes 8 seems to break something with apple tv, stuck in some sync loop.
There is a Front Row update available which integrates into iTunes 8. Also with the arrows, I think if you disable Genius, they turn off because I tried to use Genius on a song that isn't available in the iTunes store, and it couldn't. Genius only works with songs it recognizes in the store.

That didn't take long.
Running iTunes 8 on my Macbook I noticed that Front Row won't play my purchased music. I just get a black screen with the words "iTunes cannot play the current song." I've tried most of my music library and the only things that won't play are songs and albums I bought through the iTunes Store. They work just fine in iTunes, just not when running Front Row. Everything worked fine with iTunes 7. Anyone else seeing this problem? I don't use Front Row much, I was just looking for new features, but this is a "feature" I don't like.
