Maine's first Apple Store ready to open
Good news, Mainers! The long wait for an Apple Store is about to end.Apple Store Maine Mall will open on Saturday, September 13th at 9:30 AM. This will be Maine's very first store! It's located in The Maine Mall, at 363 Maine Mall Road, South Portland. You'll find it between The Loft and Victoria's Secret.

Last I knew it wasn't opening until November.
This is suhweeeet for us Mainers.
Now if only Portland wasn't a 3 hour drive... Oh well, I'll probably be there anyway on saturday, and I'll try to get some pictures.

I am very happy that maine is getting an apple store. I live over two hours away ...but i can take a bus from bangor. Now all we need is a new macbook to buy :-/

In NH I'd certainly go to Salem to avoid taxes. Much nicer mall too.
Anyhow, the Apple Store will give me a reason to swing by Portland again once in a while. They will not see any purchases from me though (got plenty of iPods already) until we see new notebooks and/or a mid range mac and updated displays.

Looks like I missed it by a week. Now only if we could get Apple to put a store in the southwest corner of NH then they could get all the Vermonters crossing the boarder to avoid sales tax, and not make me have to drive 1 1/2 hrs just to go to a store.

just for the record guys any apple store before it officially opens like 3 or 4 days before, you can book genius bar, one to one, ect. which is awesome finally apple answers our prayers hahaha

Finally! A reasonably close drive to an Apple Store!! (About 20 mins) I'll be there at the opening, hopefully with a camera.

I am sooo happy there is finally a store in Maine. The first 1000 people get a free tshirt. I am definitely going. It opens at 930. What time are people going? What time do i need to get there to get a tshirt?

yeah!!! no more drives to NH & MA to get G-bar service and now I can buy all the iphones I want, the way Steve inteded, at and actual Apple store. Thanks for answering the prayers of many Mainers Steve, were glas you're not dead.
