A second store in Vancouver before a fort in Ottawa?!

Ottawa is the fourth largest city in Canada, and as far is I know, it might be the only city in North America with a population over 1.5 million that doesn't have an Apple store. It is the Nation's capital and therefore "where the government be at". The University of Ottawa has a population of over 35 000 in 2008 and is in the top 3 largest in Canada: Apple sells their highest percentage of notebooks and probably iPods to students. There is also Carelton University and several colleges.

And with today's gas prices, driving to the nearest Apple Store is a waste of time and polutes the environment.

Find me a Canadian city that is better suited than mine to get the next Canadian Apple Store.

Yeah, I thought so... IMPOSSIBLE.

@Jeremy: What makes you think Vancouver should get a second store before all of Alberta even has one? Calgary is the second largest metropolitan area in all of Canada, and is also one of the richest cities. The University of Calgary is a large university in Canada, and the Apple store is going in just down the block from it. Somehow, I think that might be more than a coincidence.

@everyone wanting an Ottawa store: There are three
Apple stores in Toronto. Drive to one of those. The Apple store in Edmonton only opened less than a month ago, and before that we would have to drive to Vancouver for the nearest Apple store.

Be patient, I'm sure a store will go in there eventually, but Apple has their eyes set on areas that actually need the stores.

It just makes shopping in places like Lynnwood quite an awesome experience with our Canadian coin near at par again :) Bigger stores down there and lower prices and taxes.

Jeremy, calm down buddy vancouver is just to close to Redmond for Apple's tastes. Maybe you could trick them and suggest a store in Richmond.

Fairview mall is a dump surrounded by low income housing apartment blocks, what was Apple thinking? Scarborough, Pickering or Oshawa would have been much better choices, and would have filled a need in the East End.

There is a second Apple Store opening in Oakridge Centre [Vancouver]. Summer 09' is what I have been told by a a bud at the Mall corporate headquarters. Just passing on what I heard in a conversation. Hopefully it's true.

Because Toronto obviously needed another Apple Store. Whatever happened to the rest of Canada, eh?
