Billings 3 prices reduced until November 30th
Marketcircle, the company behind Billings (which I mentioned in some depth recently), knows that a freelancer (or small business) needs every advantage they can get to survive in this economy. Sympathetic to the plight of the individuals on "Main Street," they're offering Billings 3 for $20 off the usual price, and upgrades for $10 off until November 30th. If you'd benefit from time tracking and high-quality invoices but weren't ready to drop $59.95 to get there, see if $39.95USD sounds a little better.
If you've already purchased or upgraded to Billings 3, you're not excluded from the party. Emailing a proof of purchase to Marketcircle will get you a voucher for the difference, redeemable for anything else in their store. See AJ's blog post for directions. Prices have also been reduced in the U.K., Canada, Europe and Australia with slightly modified numbers based on exchange rates. Stop by the Marketcircle store for details.

Woah, this must be a sign to try it out. I was looking for some decent invoicing applications today for a project that I'm going to be doing. I tried many and none of them seemed to do what I needed, or how I would like them to do.
I tried macfreelance a long time ago and I was iffy on it, I was about to download the newest demo and see if I could make myself like it. Then you guys post this, and it looks great! I'm downloading the trial now. Looks like it'll suit my needs.
We'll see. I have to use it first.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up.
I've been using iBiz for a long time now. When I got it, it was easily the best choice around (that I could find anyway). But it seems like it keeps clunkier while Billings keeps getting better. I keep waiting for a noteworthy update but as far as I can tell they're not really interested in improving it. Almost two years now and it has barely changed.
Anyway, I'm sold... Just bought Billings!

I'd buy it in an instant if there was an automatic way of getting all my current invoices out of *Billable* and into *Billings*. It's important that my billing software contains a complete record of all invoices/payments and I'm not at all keen on re-entering two years worth of data...
Anyone got any ideas?

I just took on my first freelance project and was planning on getting started on it over the weekend. I think I'll pick up Billings for the cheaper price. At the very least, I'll be able to write it off on my taxes.

FYI - I LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY - if you already paid for Billings 2, and run the trial for 3, you will not be able to view any hours recorded in 3 without paying for it. So basically if you already own it, it is not a trial except if you want to lose 30 days worth of data just to try the new interface. I was previously happy with this company but was really annoyed that I had to give them $25 to bill my own clients after already paying $59 this year. It irritated me as I would have bought it in a few months but wanted to stick with 2 until I had some money to spare, and ended up being forced to buy it. I will not be buying anything from this company in the future.
